Hello Gigi,

The short answer is no.

The long answer is that the expiration date could mean multiple things ranging from the expectancy of the medication to maintain it's maximum level of potency. In some cases the medication would still be good but just not as effective as it was prior to the expiration date. On the other hand, some medication contains active ingredients and inactive ingredients that may deteriorate and make the medication react differently with you.

Regardless of the safety of the medication, it will not be able to perform it's intended function at a desirable level and should be disposed of at your local drug drop off. If you feel like you need more of your expired medication please consult your doctor to see if it is necessary to have another script filled out.
