Any Docs In Montana Who Prescribe Methadone ?

We are sick of Las Vegas and are desperate to move. Does anyone know a state or doctor where there is snow and mountains and doctors who prescribe methadone ( an opiate not opioid ) for chronic pain. I'm 63, not in the addiction category, nor the selling my scripts category....just getting old. My 87 yr old mother was thrown out of her wheelchair down some outside cement steps face first & I put my body between her & the pavement knocking all the curves out of my spine.
Interested in Montana since Colorado refuses narcotic treatment.

Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist if you require such a medication on a long-term, ongoing basis.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Basically, what you'll have to do after moving is set up an appointment with a new doctor and then discuss your treatment options from there.

Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

What a wonderful and protective child you are. Congrat's for saving yer mom. I would've done the same.
There is now a methadone clinic in Kalispell, MT. I think you'd probably find it very different than going to one in CA, or CO. Ppl are kinder here and more caring and helpful. I have spoken to them on the phone. Nothing is backed up or rushed here in this part on MT. Let me know what part of MT and I might have some news for you. I have been a chronic pain patient for 20 years + and have lived a few places in MT.
There is a list of doc's for the Kalispell area someone recently put on here. Read a little and you'll find it at the end of a rather long chat. I can tell you Richard Wise is no longer in practice. He was my doctor for 18 years and retired about 2 years ago. There are maybe 5 or 6 more on that person's list.Don't know about them. What I did when I moved here from CO was call doc's in the area and asked them if they'd take over my care, being very honest about my med's and condition. Wise liked that I was from where he went to Med School and we talked a lot about CO.
