Female 67 years old diagnosed with severe o.a. of lumbar spine and hip who has involuntarily stopped Norco to treat pain. What are negative effects of treating pain with Suboxone while taking 100mg Nortriptiline at bedtime for depression?
She lives a sedentary life w/o any exercise and a mitral valve that does not close completely with regurgitation and associated symptoms.

Both medications can increase sedation, so she may experience a lot of drowsiness and dizziness, as listed by the FDA.

Suboxone also does not always help everyone with pain, plus it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause other side effects, such as nausea, dry mouth and constipation.

Is she on any other medications?
