Have you consulted your doctor?

Some illnesses, such as cold, or flu are caused by viruses, rather than bacteria, so antibiotics will not help. The NIH lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

In such cases, taking an antibiotic could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, so you should not take one, unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
