If the pharmacy don't have clithromyocin what would be a good substitute

Hi Florence,

Based on my research, Clarithromycin is in a group of drugs classified as Macrolide Antibiotics. Below is a list of a couple other medications that are also classified as Macrolide Antibiotics.

-Dificid
generic name: fidaxomicin

-Erythrocin
generic name: erythromycin

-Zithromax
generic name: azithromycin

You may be able to use one of the medications I listed as a substitute for Clarithromycin, but they are still different medications and may effect you differently; so to be safe I would consult a doctor or pharmacist before hand.
