Any information on Clonazepam?

Years ago I was given a small (don't remember color) pill to put under my tongue to combat anxiety. It worked fast and completely. In minutes I was calm and my body reactions to anxiety were gone. What could that have been? I am now on Effexor ER and would like to get off as it is addicting.

Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that is most commonly used to treat anxiety, and panic disorders. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes.

It is the one that was first available, years ago, in a sublingual tablet, like what you've described, however, is it the one that can be addictive, the Effexor you are currently taking is not considered habit forming.
