Amphetamine Salts 20 Mg And Dizziness

Can I cut amphetamine salts 20mg tabs in half? My 14 yr old was given this by her doctor after being diagnosed with ADD. So I gave her one in the morning and she called me from school in the middle of day saying she was feeling dizzy and hyper. So I'm thinking maybe starting her off on half for a couple of weeks will help. She said it helped her a lot to focus, but when it started to make her dizzy she became afraid.

What type of doctor prescribed it? Was it just a general practitioner, or was it a specialist?

There is a chance she might not actually have ADD, or that this dosage, or the medication itself might be the right one for her.

Typically, you can cut, or break any medication that isn't time released, with doctor's approval.

The FFA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and insomnia.

It was a neurologist that was referred to us by her primary doctor. My daughter was on ADD medication before. I had stopped the medication, because my daughter was telling me it wasn't doing anything. So I told her primary that the medication was not helping anymore and how my daughter was failing in all her classes.

So just wanted to know if gradually introducing her to the new medication would be a better idea.
