Amoxicillin For Tooth Infection (Page 2)

In december I developed bad tooth pain and a sore on the gum in a left molar. I have a heart murmer and my blood press.rose to a high level but was erratic and other times a normal rate. I called a dentist and he said to go to the ER. I did and they prescribed amoxicillin at 500mgs every 8 hrs. The last dose was on Jan 3, 2013 and by then the tooth problem was gone. I went to a dentist and he found no infections but said a molar on the opposite side which had lost some filling should be repaired soon. I made an appt. with him, but in the meantime it developed a blister near the root and soreness at the gumline. Also I started having erratic BP swings again sometimes 160/105 and resting pulse to 88. When I called he said to cancel his appt and go to the ER again, he didn't think the BP could be from the tooth problem. He said in the mean time for the tooth to begin taking 500mg amox. every 6 hrs. ...even though the previous time the ER prescribed 500mgs every 8hrs. I did not want to go back to the ER and did not. After 5 days of 500mgs 6 times per day no more BP problem, tooth sores almost gone. I have nausea from the amox at 6 times per day, can I cut it to 8 times per day for the remainder of the scrip ? I have 17 pills left. Am I taking too much of this? This is my second ten days on amox. in such a short time. There was a ten day interval between presciptions.

I have switched from Amoxil to Augmentum 875 twice daily, and works much better.

I have a very bad abscess where the swelling and fluid is in my left cheek..probably the maxillary sinus cavity. I am in sooooooo much pain. I can't smile and I look like popeye. I was prescribed 500 mg of amoxicillin to be taken every 8 hrs. I have been taking it for 4 days..the swelling has only gone down a little and the pain is still severe enough that norco barely relieves it. My concern is that I should be taking the amoxicillin every 6 hours instead of 8. It's taking way too long to work! Can I safely change from 8 hrs to 6? Can anyone please advise?

My dentist prescribed Amoxicillin 1000mg 2x a day for 7 days for an abscessed tooth, they did a root canal. I have side effects of diarrhea, tiredness, leg and hand pain and sleeplessness. I keep waking up in the middle of the nigth. It's been a week since my last dose and I'm still getting the side effects. When will they be gone? How long does Amoxicillin remain in your system?

It is probably tonsil stones. Rinse and gargle with a strong saltwater solution 3x a day for 7 days. This should dissolve them all.

I have a bad tooth and cant afford to go to the dentist right now. I do have antibiotics from Mexico and want to know if I can take z-pack with amoxicillin for a tooth abscess?

Question I bought amoxicillin for a tooth infection and took 2 which are 500 mg each I'm not feeling good at all.....should I lower tbe dosage ?

Can I take amox/k clav 875-125mg by Sandoz for a tooth infection? I believe the tooth is absessed. I am diabetic & have high bp.

Hello, I was prescribed amoxicillin by med point for a possible tooth infection. I went the following week to the dentist to confirm a problem with my tooth. Cracked with decay underneath. I set an appointment for extraction, but cannot get in until Dec 5th. I have finished my antibiotics about a week and a half ago which at that time the pain had gone away. Now two days ago I ate a hot dinner and couldn't finish because it triggered pain and is back into my jaw, ear and giving me headaches that won't subside. I have had no relief the last two days and I am wondering how long the antibiotic works after clearing the infection? Could I have another infection and need to call in more? My appointment for extraction is not for another 24 days!

I’ve been taking amoxicillin for 3 days for an infected gum caused by an abscess. I’m still in a lot of pain and my face is still swollen. I’ve just rinsed my mouth and realized my gums are bleeding from around the infected tooth. Does this mean the amoxicillin is not working? I am getting extremely upset with the pain and nausea and don’t feel it will ever go away.

I have gingivitis and periodontal disease. I have an abscess or boil on the upper right side by my fang tooth (sorry not sure correct terminology). I called the dentist today and she called me in amoxicillin 500mg 3x per day. I have gargled with salt water and peroxide. How long till this goes away or pops so it will drain? Thank you.

I had a crown put back in after it had fallen out. When the crown was put back in I started getting really bad pain and my gums and teeth were killing me. I then went back to the dentist the next day and she said I had a bad infection in my gum so she put me on amoxicillin 500mg. I've been on them for 3 days and I'm still in pain. What should I do?

Hi. Today I am on day 4.5 of taking Amoxicillin 875mg twice a day. I had a bad infection from a wisdom tooth and I do not feel like the swelling from the infection had gone down at all. Should I bump up my dosage one time to help it get a boost?

Can anyone help? My husband has molar pain and he's taking 500mg of amoxicillin. How many days do doctors normally prescribe this medication or how long should he be taking it for an infection, for the infection to be completely gone? And would it be effective if he takes it once a day? Thanks.

I had a tooth extracted today and she gave in script of amoxicillin 500 mg 4 x a day for 10 days. I have trouble with antibiotic causing yeast infection and it's after it causes the yeast infection. Do I i really need to take that much since the tooth is gone?
