All medications carry the risk of side effects, even over the counter products.

Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections.

Its side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, skin rash and diarrhea.

I am 21 now and just like you, after 6 years of going from doctor to doctor I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 5 months ago from the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. I took Cymbalta 60mg for 4 months and got nearly all the side effects except much weight gain. Not meant to scare you but weight gain is the least of symptom worries. The best way for me to describe it, from my point of view, is its like Being pregnant while going through menopause dealing with a brain tumor. I threw up nearly every day from sensitivity to certain smells, got less hot flashes however much stronger, would feel very sick for at least an hour after taking it, had crazy fibrofog, etc... It is a very intense drug however everyone reacts differently to it. Do more research before you take it and once you start DO NOT miss a dosage. If someone tells you to take it every other day DO NOT, it is meant to be taken consecutively.

Ask your doctor about Gabapentin (Neurotin). I take 5 300mg capsules three times a day, which is a high amount and if prescribed you will start with one working your way up to what amount helps your symptoms, needless to say it helps a lot however is not for everyone. Still have little hot flashes and cold sweats nearly everyday but not nearly as many as before and the pain itself is reduced when taking it. I am currently dealing with a severe chronic sinus infection for which I am only taking Gabapentin and an antibiotic and was the true stop for me taking Cymbalta. I plan on starting Lyrica, which I have heard better news about than Cymbalta, once my infection is gone. But one of the best things, I believe you can do, is research. Over the past two months I have finally officially realized this and bought over ten books/text books about Fibromyalgia and dealing with chronic diseases. While I have only read three of them thus far I have learned a lot of tricks on coping. The only part to remember if you do research is do not get discouraged. I hope Cymbalta works from you if you start it. Personally, I don't recommend it. Best of luck to you! :)
