Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325 (Page 9)

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?

If they take the narcotic part out, which is hydrocodone, then you will just be taking acetaminophen. So I believe you are mistaken or very misinformed

I had the same experience with amneal with negative side effects. I switched pharmacies and now get Rhodes they are better but won’t replace your Watson’s

Re: Heather (# 162) Expand Referenced Message

My wife has been a chronic pain sufferer for years, back surgery and a fusion kept her from being crippled, but pain continues. Lung surgery kept her alive, but chest pain continues.

only pain relief we have has been via vicodin aka hydrocodone/tylenol. We "used to get" TEVA vicodin. That went unavailable years ago. Then we got Watson vicodin ( they were bought by TEVA) Then WATSON became unavailable - I am not sure why but it seems they got out of the market to avoid the multi-state opioid lawsuits :-(

we refuse the India pharma Rx's for obvious reasons

For about the last 18 months we were able to get Mallinckrodt hydrocodone/tylenol. It was only 75% to 80& effective, compared to Watson, but better than no pain relief.

Until now. Suddenly as of January/February 2020, all Mallinckrodt hydrocodone/tylenol is backordered and unavailable.

I just found out Mallinckrodt is filing chapter 11 bankruptcy over the pending "opioid lawsuits".

Somehow the Gov't has decided that cutting off opiods to "save" a few hundred thousand abusers, and allowing the states to file class-action suits against any pharma is more important than tens of millions of chronic pain sufferers.

So, good people, where does that leave all of us? Any ideas?

It leaves us even worse. So we fight to get docs to treat properly. We fight to get government from between pain patients and docs. So now we have to deal with a supply problem. Bet the illicit drugs won’t have supply problem. Except, chronic pain patients like me won’t go to street for illegal drugs for relief. I will have to suffer miserably or take my own life if I can’t tolerate the chronic 24/7 pain.

Re: Dano (# 2) Expand Referenced Message
With all of the issues with the opiod pain relievers i am baffled as to what to do. I, too, received the Amneal pills from Walgreens and was also told that "this is all we have and all we will be getting". The Watson hydrocodone is no longer manufactured. Also, the formulation for he remaining manufactureres of the hydrocodeone pills have been drastically changed. Simply, they attempted to remove the properties of the pill that cause a person to have a mood enhancement but that was also accompanied by removing the pain relief qualities. Btw,the Watson brand is still around for some medications but NOT hydrocodone.

I have several chronic pain disorders and I was changed over to this brand and felt no relief at all, I thought maybe it was a placebo. Maybe the doctor should know that this medication. My insurance stopped covering it, what a sad situation.

Most Pharmacies that I know of Have a time released safe. I know there was a big problem when the so called "opiod crisis" first started. Many times a person would come in and ask if a Pharmacy had a certain drug IN STOCK to fill an alleged prescription later that day one of their "associates" would come in and rob the place. The Pharmacies caught on to that scam pretty quick and told everyone that it would probably be in the next day. They would then call you up a little later that day and said if you brought in your prescription they could fill it. I was told this by a large chain.

Quit looking for the Watson brand opiod because it has not been manufactured since 2016.

I think it is the fillers that are responsible for making people sick.

Totally agree. Been on hydrocodone for 17 years for spinal injuries and degeneration. Never had a problem and the medication kept me on my feet so I could teach school. This month CVS filled my prescription with Amneal Pharmaceutical LLC. I am in sever pain, unable to stand straight or walk upright. It is terrifying to think that I may not be able to care for myself !

Re: Marc (# 150) Expand Referenced Message

Par discontinued hydrocodone in Oct. 2021 and sold brand to Strides Pharma. Unsure if they're manufacturing it now. Those yellow 3601 worked the best.

What were you taking previously? In Dallas they're filling with Mallinckrodt.

Thank you for your response. I feel you. I wish we'd be able to get the brands that work best for us, all the time.

The TEVA Adderall generic works the best for me in that drug. Now I'm looking to find Caraco in Dallas for hydrocodone. That works better than Mallinckrodt for me.

Appreciate the referral offer in SLC. Looking for a new Doc in Dallas. I guess one that's more helpful and understanding.

I receive a prescription of hydrocodirne 7.25 and it didn’t do anything. I took it for years and was out for a year due to insurance. The pill has always worked, it was like taking a 800 Motrin. It did nothing . The norco pharmacies are dispensing is not worth the chemicals it’s made with.

Yes! I have congenital cervical & lumbar severe spinal stenosis ( my spinal canal is half the size of a normal adult) causing my spine to flatten! Plus I have degenerative disc disease, scoliosis too. At first my husband thought I was crazy! I currently take Norco 10 mg 325 & Morphine. Amneal Pharmaceuticals hydrocodone 10 mg is like taking a baby aspirin. Until my husband's m.s. symptoms started bothering him the V.A. prescribed Amneal to him I take Lupin Pharmaceuticals and there is an entire world of difference in this medication. My husband finally believed me! A chemist needs to randomly test this medication from both companies. Amneal is not using the same amount of pain ingredients! I take my meds like prescribed. I'm not a junkie! People who don't understand chronic pain need to voice their opinions else where ok..I would do anything to wake up& be able to walk normally without loosing balance,& crying in pain. It's to the point I refuse Amneal hydrocodone I told my pharmacist & my pain Dr it does not help me..It shouldn't matter what company makes the generic. They are not the same!
