Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, Dano! How are you?

There's no way to know which manufacturer's product your pharmacy will carry at any given time.

You might be better served to talk to your doctor about trying a different medication.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I have seen 3 podiatrist and had 4 cortisone shots. I have been prescribed 3 different anti-inflamatories with no relief. I have been diagnosed with plantar fasciosis which is simply chronic plantar fasciitis. My podiatrist told me that my fascia is so inflamed and swolen that I need to have it removed. Then I will be crippled, not that I don't feel that way anyway. I don't enjoy taking narcotics for he pain but I cannot even walk 100 feet without needing to sit down. Anyway I got off on a tangent. When i talked to the pharmacist, she told me that they are getting calls weekly if not daily about the white hydrocodone not working for them either. I have also seen other threads about the blue loratabs 10/500 now being white as well. People taking these are having the same complaints about having no pain relief. Guess I need to contact the manufacturer.

Hi, I just picked up my new generic Norco also and it is the Ameal brand. I have noticed they don't work as well either. I too am tired of the stigma with pain meds. I almost feel like a criminal when I get my Rx filled. But, when I have to work another 5 yrs I do what it takes to get through the day. Have a good one.

I have been on Hydrocodone for RA and connective tissue disease for years. After the rescheduling in Oct 2014, I have tried 3 different pharmacies to get my script filled ( I go to a board certified anesthesiologist specializing in Pain Management) ever since the rescheduling, many of his patients ( including me) are being told by local pharmacies that they are "out" of this drug & no idea when they will get a shipment, all said it was on "back order" Does anyone know why this is happening? I find it disturbing that people with legit illnesss that are law abiding citizens and subject to drug panels to make sure we are not criminals are being denied pain relief from diseases that we did not ask to have! Any information will be appreciated

My wife is suffering horrible pain because our local pharmace gave her Amneal Hydrocodone 10/325 for the first time this week. It's like she is taking nothing. Amneal needs to get their act together. I am calling the pharmacy to make sure she never gets these again!

Good luck I have same problem. It's about the mighty dollar. I was on the 10/325 since 2008. Then they game me watson which are worthless. now I'm forced to try the Amnea brand. They are changing to the weaker white ones due to they are cheaper for the pharmacies to purchase. they do not care what we need. Again it's about the mighty dollar and I think we are stuck. I have called well over 50 pharmacies but to no avail. Wish u luck. we are all gonna need it.

I have the same script and my normal pharmacy carries the m367 on them. They dont help me either. I had to call around and ask the pharmacist what kind they had, finally i found a pharmacy that carried the good ones. I have came to the conclusion that the yellow ones with v on them manufactured by qual are the best.

I just got the smaller Watson's from Walgreens. The ones I ususally get from Publix are not Watson anymore guess the unknown brand is cheaper=more profit and less effective.

I went to the doctor yesterday for a very painful shoulder condition. He prescribed me hydrocodone 5/325. When I got home I took one, and felt no relief, I felt nothing at all except for my horrible shoulder pain. I took one more, and I felt a very slight relief from the pain but that was it. I looked at these pills and saw IP 109 and found out they are the Amneal brand. I am going to contact the company to let them know this particular generic barely works. I wish I had known about this beforehand as my shoulder pain is quite severe.

Yep.this is exactly what is happening to me and my mother. Something is not right. My pharmacist said many people have complained of this. Scary when you are hurting.

Yes. My mother and I both have experienced the exact same problem. I'm thinking something is weird. May talk to TV reporter.

Hey man... I have degenerative bone and joint disease which causes chronic pain with osteoarthritis ... you are correct in the bad med of the white hydro... I did a lot of reading and talking to pharmacies who would say I can not confirm nor deny that the white ones are not as strong... by manufacturer they have 2% variable meaning the strength of a 7.5 and the filler by products are different. .. you can call pharmacies in your area and ask which ones they aquire... walgreens has switched. .. if you have a pharmacy that is also a compouing lab they usually have the yellow...

Same results with Amneal, seems to dump everything out all at once and then poof. Made me sleepy and lasted about 45 mins. Avoid at all costs.

Yes my pharmacy has replaced my Watson norco script with white pills from Amneal. The difference is horrible! The Amneal is absolutely useless. I don't know why but they do nothing for my pain. I'm sure the pharmacies are doing this to make more money, but I for one want my Watson brand script back. This company should be investigated.

A patient is taking Norco 10/325 (manufactured by Amneal) and is not feeling better. She is 93 and has multiple medical issues. Her generic pill is oval, white, and is stamped IP 110. Have others experienced the same effect from this drug not relieving pain?

I have noticed a difference too. I picked up my m367 refill and since then, after a day or two, I started not feeling well. A couple of weeks have passed and I'm extremely sick and in pain. I was thinking maybe the variation of 20% the FDA allows in active ingredients is messing me up. With all the new laws and talk, it would not surprise me that this manufacturer is purposely cutting back, to aid in getting people off of the medication. It's hurtful if it's true.

Qualitest sold their hydrocodone division to par industries... Par kept Alabama facility open a year or so (probably to use up inventory & fill contract) & been closed now about 5 years or so... Par facility is in NY. Par kept their pre-Qualitest formula (I think). They discontinued the Qualitest formula.

Hope this helps.

Time for us to all write everyone in congress, the FDA and social security medicare/medicaid and every insurance company and president biden insisting they stop buying our pharmaceuticals out of the country. It needs to be made in the USA only if our government is covering it! Their practices are un-american and have gone on far far too long!!!

I wish I didn't have to use CVS but my Medicare insurance has given them the monopoly and then force us to go there to get the full discount! It's wrong and the government allows this and Biden went and signed a contract for "CHEAPER DRUGS" and that's why they are getting worse! We get very few choices on Medicare and NAME BRANDS is NOT one of them and it's discrimination we should have a choice! Back when Watson made them they worked and worked in the system for about 8 hours, now they perscribe 2 every 4 to 6 hours cause they know it's garbage!

Re: Jb (# 209) Expand Referenced Message

I can vouch that's the truth and I went through this last month when I was on vacation. I had to use 2 diffrent pharmacies both carried a diffrent brand and the pharmacy upstate gave me a crap generic and when I had it filled at home when I got back the brand they use at my pharmacy was noticeably better. Each company is using different fillers and I think there may be possibility something in that could be why. I'm not someone who uses them on a regular basis but I have MS and had a few bad falls because I'm in a flair.
I can remember when vicodine came out, I wish it would have been out back when I cut my fingers off. I know pain REAL PAIN, YOU CAN'T SEE IT, AND NOBODY BUT THE PERSON IN PAIN FEELS IT, SO STOP JUDGING SOMEONE OVER YOUR BAD CHOICES WITH DRUGS ITS NOT COOL ESPECIALLY ON A PAGE THAT IS HERE TO HELP ESPLAIN THE DIFFRENT ISSUES!

Re: Mel (# 198) Expand Referenced Message

Qualitest was most likely ordered to reformulate them and the company refused rather than cause suffering to the seniors that have worked so hard to make the country great. I like the 30 million seniors only took these medications to be able to participate in the economy instead of being withdrawn from chronic pain. If we all stop paying our Part D premiums to send a message they will have a round table discussion to bring back the old formula. Good luck everyone, don't get angry it doesn't help anything.

Re: Jb (# 210) Expand Referenced Message

Do you have any studies of your statement? I know people who have been taking the those medications 18+ years for chronic pain and have nothing wrong systemic, liver, kidneys or stomach. But they have had better life quality and minimal Dr office visits until the medications were changed about 7-8 years ago. I have proof of massive debt by hospitals and Dr. offices.

Re: Melanie (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

You need to get off of the pain meds Miss Melanie and try some other options sadly your liver and stomach have to be toast by now and any doctor that cares about society and their patients would red flag and ween you right away and look for better options.

Re: Dano (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

You should try other pain options it sounds like you already are forming a habit sadly.....I feel for you I've struggled my entire life with substance abuse issues and I sounded just like you when something didn't go my way. Please seek help anyone like the pharmacy is going to look at you like you are a drug seeker especially if you call the manufacturer and your doctor might cut you cold turkey so he/she won't be enabling the issue.

They are literally the same exact medicine same ingredients just different manufacturer. Your mind is telling you they don't work and your body believes you. It's true ask anyone you have to believe either they are better or the same . Your mind is a powerful piece of you that runs your entire system!! However, you run your mind if that makes sense and when it does your life will change for the better!!
