I have been taking 10 mg ofr Amlodipine Besylate. My problem is that it tastes horrible. Are there any of these in the generic that are coated. I gag every time I have to take this pill. Any information would be appreciated so I can ask my doctor for a pill specific if there is one! ## I don't know of any that are coated, but what I can tell you is that if you are tasting it, then you probably aren't taking it properly. Whenever you take medication, it should be places as far back in your mouth/throat, as possible, without choking yourself and immediately swallowed with a full 8 ounce glass of water. If you are tasting it, there is a good chance that you are either letting it sit in your mouth for too long, or not swallowing it with enough liquid to wash it down. If you are doin...

Is it safe for a 72 yr. old to take 4 different high blood medications? It seems scary... ## Multiple medications are often prescribed to help lower high blood pressure as safely and as fast as possible, or to help control certain cardiac conditions. How are they working for them? If they are experiencing issues, such as low pressure/low heart rate, as well as other side effects that the FDA lists, such as dizziness, severe drowsiness, headache, dehydration and fainting? ## Sorry, I meant to add that if they are experiencing such issues, they may need dosage adjustments, or to stop certain medications. ## I take amlodipine 10 mg, losartan 50 mg, acylovir 400 mg, bystolic 5 mg...among other meds. Isn't that too much high blood pressure medication?

Hi, I am an Indian, age 78, 5'7" in height and weigh 60 kg. I'm a vegan, I do yoga and light exercise. All parameters pathological test reports normal except that I've been on high blood pressure medicine for over 20yrs. Previously I was taking atenolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg, whereas my blood pressure was quite controlled. About 4 years back symptoms of Afib developed. Doc prescribed telma CT 40/6.25mg, metoprolol 50 + cilacar 10 and xeralto 20 in the morning and telma 40 in the evening. My BP still ranges around 150/95, no improvement in Afib - which repeats every month or so. Is it not a case of being over-medicated? Can I go back to just taking amlodipine? How do I get rid of Afib? Are there any changes you can suggest? ## It is really hard to say, and it would be b...

I found a small, white round pill with the numbers 210. There are no other markings on it what so ever. I have see others with 210 and other markings, but this has nothing on it at all other than 210 Can anyone help me to identify it?? ## I'm sorry, but I can't find a listing for a tablet that just has 210 on it, either, in any of our prescription drug resources. Where was it found/obtained? With just the marking 210, this leads me to suspect that it is probably some type of over the counter medication, however, there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Does anyone else know what this is? ## I have the same pill, purchased from Osco Drug--it is amlodipine 5mg. I was checking it out, because usually my script is a smaller, white pill ## Thank you, Bonnie...

Expiration date of 07/2013 for Amlodipine Besylate: Is it still reasonable to use now in 3/2017 or is its usefulness too degraded? ## Does the FDA have a department that is concerned about pharmaceuticals that are being sold with expiration dates that have expired? ## A medication expiration date is required by the FDA to ensure that any given medication retains its full efficacy level for that length of time, under average storage conditions.... to translate that, it means after being dispensed in a normal pharmacy bottle and being exposed to the elements that cause degradation, such as heat, light, and moisture. After that time period the medication may begin to lose efficacy. If your pharmacy has given you a medication that has expired, you can contact the FDA by calling 1-888-463-63...

I took 20 mg amlodipine accidentally which was meant to be given to my husband. My blood pressure is usually 100/60. Now I'm worried... I have a box of amlodipine besylate tabs, but they already expired on 02/2012. Is it still safe to take them? If so, how long are they good for? ## I have a bottle of Amlodipine that expired on 1-19-17. Is it still good? The Dr just put me back on them again, but is it ok to use what I have left over first? ## Expired medications do not become dangerous, but they can lose efficacy, according to FDA, and NIH reports. Thus, they may not work as well as they did, when they were new, so it is better to see your doctor and obtain a new supply, if needed. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Fred, did your doctor put you back on the same dosage? Why did he put you back on them?

i am taking espin 2.5 before to go to bed. is it right way of using? ## Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that is most commonly used to help control high blood pressure. There is really no certain time of day that you have to take it, unless your doctor has specified otherwise. Morning or night is fine. The medication can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. Because of that, some people prefer to take it at night, before they go to bed, that way the drowsiness and dizziness doesn't affect them during the day.
