Amitriptyline Hcl 10 Mg White M77 Vs. Blue 1201 V

Updated

I took the white M77 for years, one and a half year ago my script provder changed it to the blue 1201 v. during this time I have developed extremely dry mouth which I never had all the years I took the m77.

I dont know yet. could this change to blue 1201 v, be contributing to my extremely dry mouth?

thank you very much

Yes, it certainly could be what's causing it, there may be different inactive ingredients in this tablet, or you may be getting a slight bit more of the active ingredient and dry mouth can be one of the normal side effects of Amitriptyline.

When I have medications that cause dry mouth, I've found that sucking hard candy tends to help with it.

Are there any other questions or comments?

well this dry mouth, is devastating, I cant barely swollow!
these 3 ingredients are in the newest batch, that were not in the batch I took for 10 years, lactose monohydrate
polysorbate 80 and FD&C Blue No. 1. do you know the consequence of those 3 ? Can any of them cause extremely dry mouth? I took the amtriptyline for 10 years with no trouble untill my scrip provider changed their drug supplier.

It is the blue ones that are causing your dry mouth. I have been taking the blue ones for little over six months for fybromyalgia pain. It has worked wonders!! I just keep a drink at all time, usually water, or chewing him can help as well. My doctor change my pill form yesterday from taking six 25mg to one 150mg. What is weird is I am hurting this morning which I haven't felt since taking the blue.

Hello. I have been taking the Blue ones for a long time, no issues. Then my pharmacy gave me some white ones. I don't know how long ago, however 2 weeks ago I have developed an itchy, rash/ hives. Think it could be that? The Blue ones are ok, but not the white? Thank you.

I have been on 2101 V Blue 10mg amitriptyline tablets (3 each night) for over 10 years, and now I was given M77 White 10mg amitriptyline tablets but I am afraid to take them. I have noticed itchiness over the last few days. I have attempted to wean myself in the past and got uncontrollable upper back muscle pain/stiffness and insomnia. I am afraid this will happen again by switching colors of this medication. Please advise
