red capsule with imprint GG 643. My friend takes it in one of those pill day of the week things given to him by his wife. He was crushed in a mine accident. He takes pain, depression, sleep and more everyday. But I found all of his medicine but this red capsule with GG 643 on it. He takes it but he doesn't even know what it is. So I was trying to help him. Thanks ## Is it possible that marking is GG 634 and one of you transposed the numbers? I found this: This tablet contains 100mgs of Amantadine (NDC 54569-0084 ). Inactive Ingredients: - Starch, Corn - Croscarmellose Sodium - Ethylcellulose (7 Mpa.s) - Fd&c Blue No. 1 - Fd&c Red No. 40 - Gelatin - Magnesium Stearate - Methylparaben - Cellulose, Microcrystalline - Propylparaben - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate - Titanium Dioxide

My Neurologist gave me Amantadine for Fibfromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, he said this would give me energy, but I am sleeping 16 hours a day. Is this normal? Can I take an over the counter energy pill to help me give me the energy I need? How long can I expect to wait for the side effects subside and the energy I need to function in life? ## I am not aware of it being used for such, nor is it an approved use listed by the FDA. They actually list its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, and drowsiness. Looking over the other listed side effects, such as mental depression, fainting, memory loss, stupor, anxiety... well, I really can't see how he expects it to give you energy. Everyone is different, so there is always the possibility it may cause the opposite ...

The typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, blurred vision, headache, irritability and insomnia. However, hallucinations have been reported to occur in about 1 to 5% of patients that take it. Has his doctor been informed?
