Trying to find out the safety of this medicine. ## My aunt had high bp. One evening she took two pills with out any food from morning. And she died 6 hours later. Is it possible? This was told by her relatives. Her age was 36 and her bp readings are 145/95. ## Only her doctor can answer that question. Her numbers aren't crazy high, but they do increase the risk of heart attack, or stroke, which can be fatal. Do you know what medication she was taking? Why didn't she take them with food? Did she take both pills at once, or separately? Altace contains the active ingredient Ramipril. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, and hypotension. What dosage has been prescribed?

My Husband Takes Medication (Altace) For High Blood Pressure Is It Safe for Him To Take Zertalin Azitromicina 500 Mg ## Altace contains the active ingredient Ramiprim and I haven't found any problems or interactions listed between it and the antibiotic Azithromycin, though you should always double check this information to be safe. Since the Azithromycin is an antibiotic, it may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Are there any other questions? My doctor recommended me to take Altace 2.5mg to protect my kidneys due to my Type 2 Diabetes, is there a natural remedy for this? I don't have High blood pressure. I have been taking Ramipril (Altace) 10mg for over ten years and they have ALWAYS been white and BLUE capsules. Last week when I renewed this prescription, they were white and PURPLE. With all the news lately about counterfeit drugs on the market, this has me wondering. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know where I could have this new PURPLE and white capsule analyzed to see if it actually has the same ingredients as the previous BLUE and white capsules? I am in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I was wondering if anyone can answer one question for me,... I'm on altace 5mg. Of course i have angina, doctor keep telling me i will never get a heart attack, is that true or false? I get the feeling he tells me that so i do not panic however i need to know the truth, so i can take care of myself better than i do right now. Would someone kindly let me know? ## No one can say that you WILL never get a heart attack, it is always possible, no matter what medications you are taking. So yes, taking care of yourself is advisable, even if you aren't worried about having a heart attack.
