Adderall Backorder (Page 37)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Don't ever ever hand them your paper script until they tell you it's in stock. That's a solid rule.

Have any of you thought about trying a different stimulant medication? I simply had to take something else. I can't make myself do anything that isn't absolutely necessary without a med that covers my executive dysfunction. I struggle to make phone calls. I am having my house tented for termites next week and had to make preparations, so doing without wasn't an option for me. I saw my doctor on July 5th after spending the holiday weekend in bed. We decided to try Focalin 20mg bid. It isn't ideal, but at least I am not miserable and it was readily available. If I can get TID approved, it might work as well as the poor generic Adderall I have been taking since February. Since I had not it taken it before, I had no expectations I hope a solution to the poor Adderall generics can be found. Good luck everyone

They cannot send a Schedule II prescription to another pharmacy. If it is handwritten. You can take it to another pharmacy. States laws vary on how long Schedule II prescriptions are good before a new one is required from the doctor.

Me too. It’s pathetic how a pharmacy holds your prescription and they tell you they have none in stock but won’t send your script to a pharmacy that has it in stock. Walgreens won’t send to another Walgreens. They just take my prescription and say sorry we don’t have any. Walgreens 2 miles down street can see my prescription in computer but won’t fill it without a new doctors script. 2nd month in a row.

I was so lucky to have found one small business pharmacy near my neighborhood that had it in stock after calling over 20 pharmacies.
I was already a week overdue and Med-less and my withdrawal symptoms from a 90mg daily dose (30mg 3x a day) was ROUGH. Like a fog hanging over my head with a bit of depression like symptoms (fatigue, not wanting to wake up, overeating, moodiness, etc).

Had this been a drug for another illness like liver failure or diabetes there would be a big stink about it, but since it’s an ADHD medication and the stigmas that go with mental health diagnoses PLUS the fact that it’s such a abused drug makes it seem like “oh it’s just adhd no big deal you won’t die”
Like I had one pharmacist at a Duane reade catch an attitude for me asking as if I was a junkie or something. It’s really sad that people who need these meds to function in a daily basis have to spend days and weeks without their meds and all we get is a “you’ll get when you get it good luck to you” as opposed to finding a way to get those meds available immediately.

Sorry for the rant but the past week was terrible for me and I imagine many of you as well and it bothers me so much that there doesn’t seem to be any help or empathy for us just a “stop your complaining and be patient”

Yes my 30mg is on back order as well . Spoke with the pharmacy she was tell me that she doesn't know when.

At this point in time, I would be happy with any brand. I can't get my script refilled ANYWHERE in my area. I've been on the 20 mg xr salts for nearly 20 years. I'd be happy with something over nothing... I've jumped through every single FDA hoop put in front of me for my script, yet I still cant get my script....

I’m in GR too, I can’t find any pharmacy with my Adderall. Every CSV and Walgreens are out, no eta on refills either.

This is good news! I’m in the DFW TX area and Walgreens pharmacist today still told me no date in sight yet. She told me last month when my refill was due (06/05) that it wouldn’t be until July 09 or later. Now she can’t even confirm that. This is nuts! Hoping the shipments make it to Tx soon!
