Adderall Hyperfocusing

Hello my name is Scott and I've been on adderall 10mg x2 a day, I've tried sandoz, teva and aurobindo. Teva was the cleanest one for me, right now though I am taking Sandoz, I notice that my day goes by extremely fast, I come into work at 8 and look at the clock and its 5pm already, I did not experience this on teva or aurobindo, this only happened I recall when I took 10x2 at once instead of 10x2 once in the morning and then in the afternoon, I don't want to be high or anything from these, but is this permanent will this cause this to happen again or is it a dosage/brand issue.

Hello Scott,

It is generally accepted that different brands of medication affect us all differently. This is mostly due to different manufacturing practices and inactive ingredients. For example if Teva brand has inactive ingredients are designed in such a way that the 10mg Adderall takes 10 to 12 hours to completely be absorbed into the blood stream and if the Sandoz is designed to be absorbed within 6 to 8 hours you would feel the effects on a much higher scale and faster without having to increase the dosage.

This often results in people thinking that one pill works better than another. My favorite analogy is telling people they have the choice to consume 10 beers over the span of the day or 10 beers in 2 hours, obviously it's the same amount of beer in your system but the effect it has on you would be much different.

If the Sandoz is not working out for you I would simply discuss this with your doctor and see if your pharmacy carries a different generic/brand that you could swap to.
