Hi: I've been prescribed Adderall 20mg IR (generic amphetamine salts, 2x daily) and I found I was just dripping sweat in any type of heat or even at 40 deg after some exertion. My doctor switched me to dextroamphetamine (again, generic, 10 mg, 2x daily), and there is no improvement. The new drug is not as effective as the Adderall. My doctor is not that familiar with this class of drugs, but my pharmacist specialized in mental health drugs and suggested that an ER or XR version might work better. I've also read that some people do better on certain types of generics or the name brands. Has anyone found that: 1) an extended release version has physical side effects (i.e., sweating)? 2) a name brand, rather than generic, has been more effective at preventing side effects? 3) a dif...

I've been diagnosed Bipolar II. Am currently on, and have been for a few years, Paxil, Lamictal, risperdal and klonopin. Dr just prescribed 20mg Adderall XR cuz I've been complaining about distractibility. I've never been diagnosed with ADD. I've only been on the drug for two weeks, and after reading a bunch of stuff online, I'm scared to death of this drug. I wanna stop but I'm afraid of the crash. I absolutely love the comedown almost as much as the initial effects. No matter how much in overall quantity I take, whether through the day/night or a at once. I just lay, sit, or do things when the comedown hits, and end up staring at anything and everything unintentionally. And if I don't try to focus, an excessive euphoria sinks in and shifts my view, almost as if on a trip of some sort, but I can shut it off and turn it on in a snap. People that complain about the Adderall comedown are a little on the closed-minded side of you ask me. My husband is 48 years old. He has adhd problem since he was a kid. Last 7 years his phyciatrist prescribed him Adderal 30mg which helped him a lot to focus and etc, and eventually it helped him a lot in his career. He would have never succeed in his profession without those pills. Last year he was going through mid-life crisis, his father died-he started abusing those pills. Then he became tolerant to them and switched to methamphetamine for one month. I'm 38 years old I wake up 6 30 every morning and chew 4-Adderall 30xr beads. Work all day by noon take 2 more along with 2 oxycontine 80's Then that's it for adderall. I come home from busting ass all day smoke a bowl and take another 2 prescribed oxy I'm worried I might have a heart attack or stroke. Yes, with that much Adderall XR, you could be in danger, it can be risky, since it increases heart rate and blood pressure. What type of doctor has prescribed that many to be taken like that? It doesn't make any sense. Both of these medications also carry the risk of being habit forming.

My granddaughter been on this medicine for 4 months. She have loss almost all her hair, it is less than 1in. How can I help her I am not going to give her this medicine anymore. ## Hello, Madeline! How is that little lady doing? Yes, that can be a rare side effect of Adderall, because it can affect the blood flow to the scalp. She will most likely need to switch to a different medication. Has her pediatrician been consulted about this? Once a switch is made, her hair should grow back.

Been on 30mg XR many years. Supply dried up. CVS & Wllgreens Ran out. Where can I get my script filed? ## Unfortunately, I don't have an answer you. We have had many posts about this recently from many people who are having problems getting their prescriptions filled. There was a shortage reported to the FDA a few months ago and it seems that not everything has been resolved yet, with the supply chain. The only thing I can suggest is talking to your doctor about using an alternative medication in the meantime. I have been taking Adderall XR for about 7 years for narcolepsy. I have always taken 10 mg each morning; and recently my doctor increased my perscription to 5-15 mg per day, so that I was given 5 mg. capsules and had the option of taking an extra 5 mg each day. I find everyday I am tried by lunch and have a hard time staying awake, so I take that extra 5 mg. capsule around 1:00 in the afternoon. But sometimes by taking that extra 5 mg I get a really bad headache, and to be honest I still am tired. Would it be better to take the full 15 mg in the morning? I just have never taken that much at once and was afraid to try it. My son was disgnosed in the 3rd grade with ADHD and has been on Addrerall ever since and he is now in the 5th grade.He started a new school that has a doctor there to monitor him and on the 17th of May they took him off of the adderall and put him on Abilify. I have been noticing serious aggression and anger and yelling there are things that I did not see in the home before he did those things while on the addreall in school and that is why he is in a different school. My son is 14 and has been taking Concerta for the past few years. Although his dose fluctuated, he was not perscribed the highest dose available. Now his doctors have changed his prescription to AdderallXR. Because the active ingredients are so similar to Meth, and knowing how very addicitive Amphedimines are, what are the chances he will be hooked unkowingly to speed and become one of the many lying, underhanded criminals associated with young men in our society ? I've been taking Adderall xr. Today i was given Amphetamine salts TABBRR. Does anyone know about these and have taken them? What is the difference? Does one work better than the other? Thanks. ## Well the TABBRR just refers to the dosage form (tablet) and the manufacturer. This is just a generic version of the medication, instead of a name brand. ## Does anyone know of any help paying for this medication?

I dropped my adderall in a bowl of olive oil and it's coated. Will it still work if I take it? p.s it's adderall IR, not XR ## In theory, I wouldn't think it would create any problems, but I'd suggest talking to your pharmacist to be certain. They often have more information on some obscure interactions that this site doesn't have. I am just basing my guess off the fact that there are no warnings between using it and eating products that use olive oil. The only issue I can really see with out information is if they pill was in it long enough to start dissolving, then you may not get the full dosage. Does anyone else have information on this?

went to doc today and everything is fine Thank God! i was told that the xanax that i took helped calmed down the situation down alot. to those of you who are working on the levels that best works for you, don't assume you can go up a complete 10mgs. after talking to doc, i should have asked permission for going up to 5mgs instead of 10 that i asked for. he said if 2 didn't work it'd be okay for me to try 10 = 30mg dosage for the whole day. which with most people would have been okay. i now see i need 5mg increments as i'm still adjusting to what level works for me. not his fault but mine. most people tolerate an additional 10mgs pretty easily. do be careful and use the smallest additional increments of adderall that your body will take. even if you have a high tolerance,...
