Im allergic to the fillers in the orange oval so I go through my insurance home delivery and they order the pink round from the manufacturer CORE-PHARMA in New Jersey

Well, any specific pharmacy chain carrying just one brand is not always the case. Although you may have lucked out in the past with frequently filling a certain Rx such as adderall & getting the same brand every time...I wouldn't depend on that being the case every time. Unfortunately it depends on the specific region you're in, store, the current demand with the # of customers regularly going to that one pharmacy to have their regular medication filled monthly & more importantly if in fact the company that makes them has enough to dispense. Also keep in mind that one pharmacy can only order so much & may have to look for another brand for the rest.

Saying one brand is at CVS & another is at Walgreens is NOT specifically the truth. I personally know that some Walgreen pharmacies do in fact carry Teva & Sandos (orange) brands of amphetamine salt tabs aka Adderall & vice versa Pharma Cor (pink) is also is dispensed at some CVS pharmacies. Going to all kinds of pharmacies is your best when you cannot find what you are looking for & "mom & pop type" pharmacies sometimes work out best if you can find one of those as well. ;-) Good Luck!

Waiting,

I also take the round, pink 30mg IR generic Adderall. It's made by a company called Global Impax and it's sold and commonly called CorePharma or Core.

The 30mg orange ones you mentioned could be one of 3 manufactures. These 3 all put out a tablet that is orange/peach colored. The color in all 3 is very similar.

1. Teva/Barr...how you know it's this one is the shape of the tab. It is the only orangish tablet that is oval-shaped rather than round. The 30mg IR will have b974 marked on it. 20mg is marked b973.

2. Aurobindo...tablets are round, the color is closer to a light peach rather than orange. The 20mg IR tab is marked U30 & the 30mg IR is marked U31.

3. Sandoz made by Eon Labs. It is much closer to a true orange. It is a round tablet. The 30mg IR is marked with a funny looking E above the # 404. It's my understanding that the production of Sandoz has been discontinued, I don't know if it is temporary or permanent.

A simple answer to your problem of the pink ones not working as well as the orange ones has two parts:

Part 1....don't get the pink ones again...ever! Listen..you DO NOT have to meekly accept whatever generic is in that small white bag the pharmacist hands you. It is NOT inappropriate whatsoever, before purchasing, to politely ask which generic manufacturer they currently have on hand. That's exactly the phrase I use and NEVER has a pharmacist declined to tell me. Now over the phone....way different story! Some will/some won't. I have been denied that info., hung up on, so physically going to that store with the hard copy script in hand, be polite and don't come across as demanding or entitled and you can get any information you want about any generic.

One last thing: In my early days taking Adderall, I got so consumed with things like finding out about binders, fillers, inactive ingredients all in the attempt to find out why some manufacturers work better than others, why some days it doesn't seem to work at all. I was certain the answer was somewhere in the differences in binders/fillers/inactive ingredients. Talk about wasting a ton of time and energy!!

I have personally used Actavis, Sandoz, CorePharma, Teva/Barr, Aurobindo and Evekeo and they all work for me. Period.

Now, I will say that without question some work better than others. I would try all for at least one month so you have a personal database on what works and what doesn't.

Advice: Don't pay for the ones that don't work very well...ever again!

Fillers matter, huh? I assume binders and inactive ingredients and bioavailability also have much to do with your lack of success with Adderall?

Have you considered that it could be the types of food you eat. It could be your lack of physical activity. It could be not getting enough sleep. It could be that you continue to live a sedentary, uninformed life and expect a pill to do all the work for you.

When I started eating better, working out more, sleeping a full night...the sum of these things led to a lifestyle change. That and finding out through trial and error what dose of each Adderall manufacturer works best for me is how I learned to find success in taking Adderall. Period! End of story!

Those of us that talk of fillers and binders and nonsense like that either can't be bothered to change some basics habits in their lives or you are simply a complete *****. Try focusing more of your time and efforts on maintaining good nutrition, more physical activity and proper sleep. I've done it both ways. I was that guy chasing down this or that agency to file complaints and be heard. Nobody at Teva or any other manufacturer cares about you and your filler complaint.

Wake up all of you who are fighting big Pharma and the FDA. You will go mostly unheard and unreceived in your efforts to uncover the great mystery of which binders are they using this month. Control the things that are within your control.

Ok this post is to hopefully help at least one person, so here it goes...

I'm 27 in new york, Been prescribed Adderall for 2 years, i've done TONS of research on this entire topic. and i have a ton of knowledge on this..Everyone's always like "these are better no these" i was one of them, so, generic adderall, each of them (cor-pharm, teva, auroB, mal, & sandoz) each of them have "fillers & binders) that is made into the generic adderall, and those fillers & binders are the main cause of effecting each person differently, everyone reacts differently to the fillers in the adderall, hence the review's are all over the place..simple as that, it's a fact. (for me) i refuse to get anything but the pink ones (cor-pharma) I've done my analysis & stuck with them, they give me most energy, focus, motivation. Accidentally got the footballs (teva) after (my analysis) and i paid big time for it, i took them and was yawning constantly, was tired, i felt with drawling honestly, Complaints to the FDA did nothing like always. So, folks, it's very important to analyze YOURSELF on each generic, looking up, "what's better" it so pointless cuz the fillers are different for everyone...

i get two 30 IR a day & my tolerance now is my problem, completely stopping for a few days, is THEE ONLY way to lower very high tolerance, (FYI) ritually i take 3,000mg of calcium carbonate (antacid) that absorbs acid in my stomach allowing more of the adderall to absorb into my system without the acid stealing it. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER FOLKS ! hope i helped just 1 person, GOD BLESS EVERYONE !

I take the pink Corepharma generic 20mg Adderall. I just spoke to the company. They have discontinued their generic Adderall as of May 1st, 2017. What will you do now, those of you that are like me and prefer that generic? I've tried 2-3 of the peach generics and they do not work for me. I have to figure out quickly what generic is the closest to the Corepharma.

The difference between the generic adderall, people think they are all good or all bad...like seeing it out of like a borderline's eye..(joke) Each generic has fillers an binders that affect each person differently, and that is the main reason there are many different review's on this topic all over the board...some say the teva footballs an some say the pink cor pharma, some even say the sadoz...my opinion, being prescribed for the last two years...i have had pretty much every brand of generic...an pink cor pharma is the best...an i just filled a script of them actually, (after reading that they are not making them any longer, apparently they are) 06/07/2017 is the date i filled them...and have filled them each month of the 2 years...(once i got teva footballs) & they were complete garbage...made me feel very ill, it was the fillers to blame they used...again, affecting each person differently...people really need to do their own research instead of "those are junk", uhh no there not junk just because the fillers affected your body in a different way than the next guy?...psh, shake my head..

TEVA Adderall ONLY!!!!! (Orange oval football shape)...The absolute best ingredient. I’ve taken Adderall for over 25 years. I consider myself an expert in knowing variations of different Adderall.......DO NOT let any physician or pharmacist tell you the lie that “all Adderall is the same”...because it is NOT! There is only one adderall made of good quality which is made in Israel by TEVA Pharmaceuticals. The rest of the junk like Alvogen, Lannett, Sun Pharmaceuticals are all made with low grade generic fillers from China and a India. Refuse this junk fillers. Demand your rights!!!

You have the legal right to refuse junk from Asia and demand TEVA and if your pharmacy is out it’s because it’s the best! Take your script to a pharmacy or call around to your local pharmacies to find out who sells TEVA. Until recently Walmart had the TEVA contract but they lost it trying to save a penny. However, Walgreens now has it and maybe some other local pharmacies. It’s worth waiting for TEVA as there are no comparisons between TEVA and the low quality of these other off brands and many thousands of patients have written these companies complaining. Write the FDA a complaint was well because the junk from China does not work.. Need more proof?? Refer to the thousands upon thousands of complaints on Reddit about how TEVA is the only Adderall that works. It will blow your mind. My advice is do not accept the crap from China and India. If it does come from Europe/Israel leave it with the pharmacist and find you a new pharmacist.

Alvogen and other generics make me sick because it taste like what I assume rat poison would taste like, accept TEVA Only. It’s in big demand for one reason because it works! No, I do not work for TEVA and have no connection with the company. This is my tried and true opinion over a 25 year period... I’m just sick and tired of these lying physicians and pharmacist telling me “they are all the same”. Hell no they not! If they were then we would only need one name brand, right? Demand TEVA Adderall as it makes all the difference trust me. It’s worth your time to locate a pharmacist in your area that offers this quality drug. Google the TEVA difference and read the complaints for yourself.

Theres amphetamine (coated, orange) and the dextroamphetamine salt combo (chalkish/pink) pills. The pink pills seem to be the most generic or cheapest out the two, so most pharmacies carry it for the cheap insurance providers.

PINK: Came on strong and wore off in 2 hours. It made me over focused, irritated and impatient when something did distract. Prozac was added to curb the edge. But Anxiety and Depression increased when it wore off like I was crashing. I would be useless the rest of the day. I had no taste for food and it dehydrates. I got switched to Vyvanse and been on it for years. Until my new insurance (AARP Rx) doesn't cover amphetamines. So I actually get generic orange amphetamines (after an inconvenient Prior Authorization process.)

ORANGE: No irritation or harsh symptoms to adjust to when they take effect. No feelings of withdrawal for me. I still have an appetite and my body isn't dehydrated.

In my experience both are just cheap poor substitutes for the poor or cheap Insurance companies. If possible don't settle for either. See if you can get your prescriber to clarify, name brand only.

I believe the orange are made by Teva and the pink are made by CorePharma. I cannot take the pink. They make my heart race and do not help with my concentration.

Sounds to me your're talking about Teva/Barr (peachish/ orange ovals marked b 973) vs. Core Pharma (bright pink round tablets stamped Cor 136.)

Not exactly sure what you mean by potency..but my experience only here...some off the pros & cons of the two.

Teva/Barr 30mg IR (2 months) was way to mellow and frankly, weak. Yes, I could tell it was in there, but no drive, no motivation, changes in mood...less optimistic/hopeful about things, some irritability
Focus and concentration, starting & completing tasks was very good with Teva. Overall though, much more bad than good with Teva for me and will not fill again unless absolutely necessary.

CorePharma...I went into it with a pre-determined notion that I would hate it.
True.
I'm half way through my first fill, and I am surprised at how much I like it. Really like it. Consistent, each dose gives me exactly what the previous dose did:
Gives me pep in my step, multi-tasking skill is much better, sharp focus and an awareness of things to be done and then do them. Few cons at all on Core from me.
I can't even think of one detailed thing about Core I dislike. I will continue to use CorePharma/Impax indefinitely.

In massachusettes, walgreens has the teva brand (b973 20), rite aid has the corepharma (pink tablets cor 135 meaning 20mg and cor 136 meaning 30mg), and cvs has mylan (orange tablets printed with AD 20). If we go back 4 months ago, the best generic adderall was teva which is offered by walgreens (luckily I still have few left from that time they worked great). However as of november 17, 2016 the best generic adderall is the pink tablets manufactured by corepharma and is found in rite aid pharmacy. Do not buy teva or mylan!!! You will get screwed and have to wait for another month to get the prescription... Even if you tell your doctor that they don't work he wont give you another prescription and will tell you to wait another month! The teva footballs (b973 20) now are nothing compared to the same ones that were offered in walgreens 4 months ago. Hope this helps!

Ps: The teva tablets issued 4 months ago are better than the corepharma pink tablets now.

People got s*** twisted mann. I had this problem when I switched pharms, been on adderall for two years, 60 mg a day.

I had auro bindo, pinks, teva footballs, other orange. When I went from pink to footballs, I just about fell on the floor. I didnt look at the bag until it was to late and I was home. Let me tell u the worst month of my life was this past october...Got stuck with teva footballs...Possibly the "Best" ones...My ass bro, that's what people are not understanding...

The generic market has done a flip flop. Over a year ago the footballs were the #1 preffered generic. As of last 9 months or 1 year, the pink adderall without question are the most effective...No doubt about it...Teva footballs now a days, will make u yawn an ache, an they are complete trash....

Pink cor pharma or nothing my fellow patients....

From a dude that used to be obsessed with getting to the bottom of the generic ****ery...Made complaint with fda though about footballs, like they gave a s***...Bunch of foreign country's making our pills, now trump in office, interesting to see how many pill mills will be be legit possibly see the adderall stash become usa made. #hope

I had taken from Aurobindo back in 2014. I was prescribed with 30mg 2x a day and went up to 3x day bacause I told my psychiatrist that I wasn't feeling the effect. I started off with 10mg twice a day but I don't remember who manufactured it because that was back in 2008. So, with Aurobindo in 2014 and 2015, I started abusing it because I wasn't feeling the medication kicking in, I wasn't concentrating, it was very difficult. Then I was prescribed with 30mg 3x a day. Still wasn't enough. One time that year, I received from Teva (I think it was orange but it was a football shaped tablet) and it worked great! I didn't feel the need to take more than what I'm supposed to be taking. See, in those years, I wasn't aware of manufacturers, I was just told that they are the same thing. Then I started getting Aurobindo again, and I told my CVS pharmacist that I wanted the other one that was shaped like a football, but she gave me an attitude and tried to convince me that they are the same. In 2016 to now, I started go to Ralph's pharmacy and Aloha Pharmacy because they carry Corepharma (the pink tablet that is round labeled COR 136 on the back). Corepharma works really well with me. Unfortunately, just recently I got Aurobindo...again (the light orange tablet that is round labeled U31 on the back). It doesn't work well with me. I don't get concentration, it's like if it has no effect on me, well besides headaches here and there, anxiety, insomnia, and I feel crappy. Luckily, I have a few from last month which are from Corepharma, and those were very effective for me. Always focused, motivated and I felt great. I'm still prescribed with 30mg 3x a day. As of today, I'm searching pharmacies to see which have Corepharma, because with Aurobindo..I'm not myself. I live in California, SoCal to be exact, if anyone knows of a pharmacy that carry Corepharma, please let me know :) oh, if a pharmacist say that it's the same adderall, same tablet, just a different color...that is false. I felt the difference. I learned today that I have tell my psychiatrist to write down "Corepharma only" so I don't get Aurobindo, ever again. I had to do my research on these generics, which I should of done that a long time ago.

Re: David (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

That’s not exactly true. Generic medicine can vary up to 20% in active ingredient stronger or weaker. From the brand name, not each other.
So one generic may be up to 20% stronger than brand while another is 20% weaker, which is a big difference between the two.

To OP- I hated the pink ones. The brand that prints an M on them (not sure the color) tend to be weak. And I think the Aurobindo brand are bad.

Re: DrMerritt (# 164) Expand Referenced Message

I've been taking Adderall for 22 years and yes all the various manufacture brands are different. There's like 10 generic manufacturers now, so it's getting complicated. First of all Adderall has never been the same since Shire sold it to Barr in the early summer of 2007 (Shire Adderall was amazing... there has been nothing even close to it since). And then Barr was the second best until it became Teva/Barr, which I want to say was around 2010-11. For me Corepharma has been the best since, but I haven't been able to get it for the last 3 years (apparently it's now Epic Pharma). Every 6 months or so I would switch to Teva, to help prevent a Corepharma tolerance.

It's pretty weird that switching to any different generic is like taking a completely different drug. They even have different side effects. It's been around 10 years since I tried Sandoz... Sandoz was alright (I know most people prefer it). I've been taking Teva for the last 3 years, which is ok... it's one of the easier brands to find and it's a decent brand for me... at this point I'm not really thrilled about any of the brands, but I prefer Corepharma/Epic Pharma if I can get it. Arobindo or whatever it's called was pretty bad. Northstar was pretty bad as well... but it was the same thing as Arobindo, because they contract to other manufacturers and that's who they got it from the time I ordered it.
