Is this medication going off the market? The girl at HEB pharmacy said "they" (the pharmaceutical co.?) were going to quit making it. ## Why has Adalat 60 mg. been discontinued in Canada? What are the medical community recommending in replacement? ## Hello Sharon, According to the FDA only certain dosages of the Adalat CC extended release is going to be discontinued as of now. Their list shows that the 10mg XR version of the pill is being discontinued but all the others are currently listed as currently being produced. I can't promise they won't close down the other XR dosages but for the moment only the 10mg has been affected. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day.

High blood pressure is considered a heart problem, because it causes your heart to have to work harder than normal, which is why it can sometimes cause heart attacks or heart failure, if not brought under control. I can't find any information on Actiprex, so I'm not sure what it contains, thus I'd suggest checking with your doctor, before taking it. I found little round red pills with cc in black on one side nothing on the other !! Can anyone help me and tell me what they are . I looked everywhere I cant find them anywhere !! ## I can't seem to find any definitive information to confirm the ID of this pill, but I noticed someone else said that they may be a blood pressure pill, known as "Adalat CC"; used to control high blood pressure. I need to know if it is used as a prophylactic to prevent pulmonary hypertension ## Adalat-R contains the active ingredient Nifedipine, which is a calcium channel blocker, used to treat Angina and various forms of hypertension. If someone has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, it can be a very dangerous condition that can lead to heart failure, so it is normal for someone to be given a medication to try to prevent such complications from occurring. However, if someone hasn't been diagnosed with it and has no signs of any form of hypertension, then there really is not point to taking one of these medications.
