My pdoc prescribed 5 mg of ability twice a day, but when I mentioned an antidepressant he said that would not be a good idea....now he feels I have bipolar disorder but aren't individuals with bipolar normally on an antidepressant along with mood stabilizers or antipsychotics? I'm just confused......any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks ## In my honest opinion, a good doctor won't prescribe anyone more medications than they have to. Reason being (from my perspective) is that prescription drugs in general are only made to cover up (treat) the symptoms and emotions associated with the condition. In UK, can a person still be eligible for gastric band surgery while taking abilify and sertraline? Would a good surgeon still perform gastric band surgery on such a patient? Patient is mentally stable for a number of years after being on this medication. Would doses have to be adjusted? Also would patient have to transfer from taking tablets to injections? ## I think there are going to be quite a few different factors that come into play here and have an affect on the decision. Such as, is the person of sound enough mind to make such a decision? Then, there are also going to be questions of whether or not such medications can be continued, or need to be stopped for a period of time. I have been on Lexamil 20 mg for more than 7 weeks. I am 74 years of age. I feel more depressed than ever and have completely lost all interest in life. I have tried most other ant-depressants for over 30 years. ## Have things improved for you any? What type of antidepressants have you tried? You may be resistant to the regular ones, such as SSRIs and SNRIs, so you may actually need to talk to your doctor about trying something very strong that can help with resistant depression, such as an antipsychotic medication, like Abilify. ## maybe it is reactin with your other RX; so there must be something else going on other than just the RX in your life. I have bipolar disorder, and I was wondering whether Abilify and Aricept could be used together for problems with cognition: Memory, executive mental functions, etc. ## Only your doctor can decide what is appropriate for you to use. No one here can possibly guess as this site is not medical professionals and have no knowledge of your medical history. ## I have Parkinsons and am taking sinemet. I also have major anxiety/depression as a side of the Parkinsons. Prozac & klonipan helped for a long time but then stopped effective. Hello. I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I have suffered from it since I was 6 years of age. My doctor has always had me on Zoloft, but I don't think it's working. He keeps increasing my dosage & it's making me feel sick & irritable. With the Zoloft, I'm taking a seizure medication called Tranxene that's supposed to work like Xanax. metabolites of abilify showing up as cocaine metabolites ## No, I can't find anything in our information resources that list it as being known to cause false positives for anything. Has this happened to you? If so, were you taking anything else, even over the counter products?

i have found several small peach or tan colored tablets, not scored with a tiny 15 on them and also 600 and what appears to be an "A" ## I'm sorry, but I can't find any listings for anything with such a marking in our U.S. prescription drug resources. That abilify T.v commercial is rather misleading, why dont they say the word "antipsycotic" anywhere in the T.V ad and the warning information for antipsycotics? Just say it abilify DANGER ANTIPSYCOTIC ! I was taken seoquel 100mg 3 times a day but got me sick an put me to abilify 30mg than my doctor took me off an put me on risperidone 1mg. but seem most likely med's really not working better an I just got these "risperidone 1mg. but i also take Lexapro an Zyprexa5 mg as in today but also need to know is it better of which of all I be taken to help me. I also take Clonazepam 1mg as for "klonopin" an Trazodo ## It is actually difficult to say what medication(s) may be better at helping any certain person. They can all affect everyone differently and what may work wonderfully for one person might not work, at all, in another person. My doctor prescribed me 15mg of Abilify after telling me I had the symptoms of classic Bi-Polar. I took it, and that day I felt horrible. Nausea, very weak, dizzy, and i ended up throwing up at work. i tried it twice. the second time not as bad, because i had more food in my stomach, but still not worth it to me, to feel so weak, feeble, and dizzy. so i decided to start taking halves, and even then i felt not so great. very anxious, this empty feeling inside, physically, that made me feel like i needed to have something (a shirt or jacket that fit tightly, and just was against me.) the anxiety had gotten quite bad, and i am usually an avid reader, and could barely read more than a page or two while taking this. i talked to my doctor about it, and he gave me 2mg samples, told me to take ...
