A Doctor In Longview/tyler, Texas Who Prescribes Xanax

I have been diagnosed as suffering from bi-polar depression. Everyday, all day the muscles in shoulders are so tight that I have continuous tension headaches that run up the back of my neck and behind my hears. I have tried deep tissue massages (last 2-3 days), ice/hot packs/pulse stimulators (don't work), acupuncture (4-6 hours), oral steroids (don't work cause weight gain), steroids shots in neck (4-7 days). All of the above is very costly and I have no relief. I have ringing in my ears, suffer from insomnia and can't sleep. I can be up for 48 hours without a nap unless I take medication. I live with high anxiety and have frequent panic attacks. I have Fibromyalgia and in addition to the above, I hurt all over. It feels as though I have been run over by a truck or beaten. It you pinch me anywhere on my body it feels as though I am bruised deep under the skin in the muscle/meat. I have upper, middle and lower back pain. Rheumatoid Arthritis causes me to have limited use of my arms and knees both collapse and I drop whatever I have in my hands or I fall. I suffer from burning in my shoulders, elbows, wrists and knees. My hands and feet tingle and at night this really makes sleeping impossible. I suffer from sleep apnea (have CPaP), along with migraine headaches and high blood pressure. It is impossible for me to have a good day and enjoy life. I used to be so active but because of a very stressful life all of that along with happiness has been taken away from me. Dr. has me taking 150mg of Lyrica 2 times a day but it is not enough. I have to take at least 225 twice a day to relieve some of the pain all over. I am also prescribed Soma, which is only muscle relaxer out of 5 I've tried that helps at all. I have tried Xanax lowest dosage and it seems to really help the tight muscles, anxiety/panic, insomnia and when my muscles loosen it doesn't make the Fibromyalgia seem so bad. However out of 5 general practitioners, 2 psychiatrists and 3 therapists, 6 rheumatoid arthritis/pain specialists in the Longview/Tyler, Texas area and no one will prescribe it to me. So far it is the only medicine when used with my others that seems to help me at all.

Sometimes Ping when you present yourself with too many complaints a Doctor is not willing to comply. If you have been diagnosed as Bi-Polar you need medicine for that, I don't read that here? Soma is an excellent muscle relaxer and helps anyone sleep. Sometimes I prefer it over Xanax because Xanax can be very dangerous. A good doctor would address all those symptoms?

Sorry to hear about the terrible journey you have had to endure. I wish it was as simple as pointing at a specific doctor and saying that you could go to them for all your needs but unfortunately that isn't the case as doctors need to prescribe medicines on a case by case basis. In my years of dealing with psychiatrists and pain management doctors that it really comes down to your conversations and how you present yourself. These doctors see such a large number of people and nearly every one of them comes in seeking some sort of medical remedy that could be resolved through non medicinal means. With the government crackdown on malpractice and misdiagnoses it has become even more imperative that doctors weed out those that need the prescription medicines and those that don't and a lot of the times those that do need them get wrongfully overlooked, not for lack of caring but simply because they feel the need to err on the side of caution.

One of the best things you can do is build your case and provide as much and as detailed of information as you possibly can and do it in a timely manner. Keep records of your pains, what types, where and how frequently etc. When you walk in provide him with a medical history of what you have previously taken and what has worked and what hasn't. Inform them of your allergies and remember that doctors prescribe medicines for your worst days and not your best so when they say "describe a normal day" what they really mean to say is tell them the worst you have, don't describe the days that you wake up and feel fine. Tell them about the days that your shoulders are in severe pain, let them know about the days that you have gone without sleep and due to the issues compounding it only spirals downward. Without a detailed description of your pain and logs to back it up, they really can't prove that you are justified in your prescription.

I guess that's a long winded way of saying that doctors have worked hard to get where they are and due to government crackdowns they have to be cautious and it has become the job of the patient to provide concrete evidence that they need the medicines they claim to need.
