It actually depends on the patient, their health and what condition is being treated, some people may require a higher dosage than others, especially in the case of severe swelling and/or injury, which is why more than one dosage is available for a doctor to prescribe.

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation.
