Hello, Kaye! How are you?

Has your doctor prescribed it for you?

It can vary from person to person depending on your tolerance to opiates. This dose may be too much for some people, but not for others, if they are used to taking it.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Kaye, if you're uncomfortable with taking that much, ask your dr to give you a lower dose for a few weeks and see how it does. If you haven't taken MS Contin or Morphine before, it may make you sleepy or put you to sleep, so take it when you don't have to be alert or awake for a while.
