I am trying to cut back on my pain pills (oxycodone #10) that I take 4-5 times daily for my pain. If I take the suboxone later that day and am still hurting, can I take 1 of my oxycodone's and will it work with my pain or will it block it and I would be just wanting it? Please help me if anyone knows the answer.

The Naloxone in the Suboxone will block it from working. The Suboxone takes a very strong hold on the opiate receptors in your brain and tends to kick out other opiates, which could also result in dangerous precipitated withdrawals.

The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Correct! Never ever take Suboxone the same day as any other opiates!!! It will send you into the absolute worst withdrawal ever! Always wait at least 24 hrs from your last use before taking Suboxone! Hope this helps you!

I took Suboxone when I was in Rehab. They gave me a while INE 2 X's daily for three days, then 1/2 if a Suboxone 2x's daily, then 1/4 of a Suboxone 2x's a day all for 3 days and then nothing. IT IS IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING ELSE AS FAR AS ANY OPIATES ARE OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE TAKING SUBOXONE!! IF YOU DON'T WAIT FOR AT LEAST 12 HOURS BEFORE TAKING SUBOXONE, YOU CAN GET EXTREMELY SICK!! I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!

IT IS A MUCH SAFER DETOX DRUG THAN METHADONE!! METHADONE IS VERY DANGEROUS!! I'VE been an opioid addict for 13 Years. So I suffered from extreme anxiety and full blown panic attacks after being on nothing! The reason someone whose been on opioids for a long time or anxiety and panic attacks, depression was something that you've dealt with before using them, at least in my case, and was also told that all that crap comes back 10 fold!! I didn't beg for a xanax but was told that xanax was the most deadliest drug you can take. So on the 30 day program I bailed on day 29. This was February of 09.

I'm still an opioid addict. IF YOUR READING THIS AND YOU HAVE BEEN ON OPIOIDS FOR LESS THAN 2 OR EVEN 3 YEARS THEN YOU CAN BEAT THIS!! JUST WEAN YOURSELF OFF LIKE I MENTIONED ABOVE WITH ANY PAIN PILLS FOR THREE DAYS AND YOU WILL FEEL LIKE YOUR OLD SELF, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE STRONG AND SAY NO, EITHER TO YOURSELF AND/OR OUT LOUD!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!
