30mg Dextroamp-amphetamin (alvogen)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I am relatively new to the Adderall treatment process. This is my 3rd month trying to find the right dosage. Initially, my Dr put me on 20mg XR but I couldn't really tell that I took anything. We then moved to 20mg IR twice-day. CVS gave me (20mg Amphetamine Salts by Sandoz). We made some progress with this move but still didn't get me to where I wanted to be. Now, I'm on 30mg IR twice-day but CVS gave me (Dextroamp-Amphetamin by Alvogen). Yes, the Rx is spelled just like that. Makes me wonder what they really gave me?? Also, I can't find a lot of information on this particular Rx from the manufacturer. I don't think it's equivalent to the Sandoz version but in my opinion, CVS should be giving me meds from the same manufacturer to get an accurate baseline on whether it's working or not. If anyone has any info on the 30mg Dextroamp-Amphetamin by Alvogen I'd like to hear what you have to say. Thanks!

Sir, you know better than this. I’ve seen you even reply to people to explain that generics can vary and strength up to 20% Either stronger or weaker than the name brand. Why are you lying to this person?

It’s probably spelled that way because it doesn’t fit on the label, CVS and Rite Aid buy the bottom of the barrel generics for Adderall. I had to stop going there because I’m pretty sure some of the meds they get are fake. The worst are the ones me both Aurobindo, the second worst I’ve ever had are from the company that begins with an M, there’s an M printed on the tablets. I’m super sensitive to medication and I have to take almost twice as much of the M brand.

You will not get good medication from CVS or Rite Aid. You should also know that generics can vary in strength up to 20% from the namebrand, and each one can be different. So one generic may be 20% weaker than name brand Adderall, another generic maybe 20% stronger, which would result in very different efficacies between the two generics. I know it’s a pain, but you just have to keep trying different ones until you find one that works for you and then only get that kind. I take 10 mg IR and the only ones I found that I like or the ones made by Teva. Lots of people hate the Teva, they’re the only ones that don’t make me feel ill and that actually work.

Thank you for your response. That makes a lot of sense. Do you know if there is a difference between sulfates & salts? I see that different manufacturers call the active ingredients either a sulfate or salts. In my opinion, if it's the same why not call it what it is??

This is a perfect dosage for me. Even though 60mg/day sounds like a lot to some it works for me, for now.

Regards!

There is no difference among the prescriptions you've received, the active ingredients were just designated differently on the latest one. The active ingredient in Adderall is mixed Amphetamine salts, this last one just listed them specifically, instead of using the shorter description.

Ref: Adderall Information

The pharmacy does not recognize there being any difference from one generic to another, so whichever one they have in stock may vary, depending on what company was offering the cheapest price through their distributor at the time they needed to restock their supply. It is entirely possible that you may receive a medication from a different manufacturer every time you have it filled. Any differences between one generic, and another, are considered to be therapeutically insignificant.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, anxiety, and anorexia.

How are you doing on this dosage?
