The best advice I can give you is to look for a pain management specialist. Under the new laws, general practitioners will no longer be able to prescribe these types of medications long-term for people that suffer from chronic pain. In order to get them on a regular basis, they must be prescribed by someone that's specially trained in handling pain.

And if you have insurance, you might want to call them up, or check their website and see what doctors they list in your area. That should help save you some time on hunting for one.

Is there any chance that your prior doctor may be able to recommend someone?
