29yrs Old And Have Herniated Multiple Disks In My Lower Back - They Prescribed Me Oxycodone 30mg

Updated

Actually does HELP my pain, not for high. But I've ran out once before and it was AWFUL!!!! I made sure to not run out again! That's for sure. But, now I've recently found out that I'm pregnant, about 3 or 4 Months! I'm not sure what to do, bekuz it's goin to be a little while before I get to see the Ob/Gyn. And I remember when I had ran out b4 and starting to experience WD!! Knowing how I felt, I don't want to subject my unborn child to WDz, but I also know I can't continue to take them, without endangering my baby, I'm already worry I may have already....... How does this process work....... Smh. Can someone please help me. THANK YOU

How are you doing? Congratulations on the pregnancy.

Did you inform the OB Gyn about this issue, when setting up an appointment? They really should get you in a lot sooner for this.

Usually, Subutex or Methadone are preferred as being safer during pregnancy.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Slim Angyl, it's been two months since your post about the pregnancy and the pain medicine so I'm goin to assume you've gotten that worked out by now. I certainly HOPE it's under control by now. Please let us know how you're doin!!

I have chronic back pain and live in Ky. Sometimes I get sharp pains in my back and can't move until it goes away. It brings tears to my eyes it's so bad. Does anyone know a pain clinic in KY that will prescribe oxycodone. If it's in Lexington Ky that is ok too.

I actually started doing better after i had my son, but after a few months the pain came back, and now with having to carry him alot, and he's getting to be a big boy, the bigger & heavier he gets causes my back to hurt more & more, especially when i 1st wake up in the mornings...... I'm nervous about re-injuring my back, i definitely don't want to make it WORSE! Im seeing a Dr now, that gave me percocet but i have to take more than i want to, to get any relief.... Any ideas of what i could speak to my Dr about other than the percocet, that works well?

Slim Angel. i justrad your post you had your baby boy and he is apparently big and healthy. Your dr may send you to a p[ain mangement clinic if you need a larger quantity/dose of percocet. Do you have an updated MRI? This post is old but i had to reply out of concern!

Go to the ER if you have to, you are pregnant. IF you are planning on keeping the baby & planning on taking ANY medication other than Pre-natal vitamins or other medications or supplements approved by your Dr. you have to remember your body is going to be going through A LOT of changes. It is possible that you are just physically ready to have a child. Taking ONE pill can or may cause defects to your unborn child which can affect the development of him/her. Sorry but when I was diagnosed with my ailments and put on these medications my Dr put me on Depo Provera which stops my menstrual cycle AND we still practice safe intercourse. It is 15 years since my diagnosis and I never got pregnant but they told up front my body and the pain level couldn't take it. You can NOT take anything while pregnant. Make a choice.

No worries hun of course i can't guarantee that nothing will happen in your case specifically but i was prescribed 7 (5-325mg) a day through my whole pregnancy and nothing bad happened i just had to go to a specialty obgyn/pain clinic it was for high risk pregnancies (due to being on percocet while pregnant its considered high risk.) I recommend waiting to stop until you go to the ob or ask for a referral to a specialty OBGYN because going cold turkey can actually put the baby and you into shock and can do more harm than good and then you and the baby would both be going through withdrawals which would also put stress on your body and risking your pregnancy. with my situation I was on pain pills percocets before I found out I was pregnant and I had to stop taking them when I found out long enough to get referred to a specialty OBGYN and I was taking so much Tylenol that it could actually cause more harm thcet to keep me from taking so many so they decided to put me on the Percocet to keep me from taking so many Tylenol. The Tylenol did not even begin to touch my pain.

Re: sapphire (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I live in Lexington and go to an excellent pain management clinic run by Oliver James, MD. I highly recommend them.

Re: hwithKY (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

I live in Lexington and thus far (well over a year, maybe close to two years now) have been happy with mine. One never knows when things might change as I see the office changing as they have to jump through more and more hoops. Prior to this clinic I was very unhappy, but he thankfully for the patients, quit practicing pain mgt.

Why in the world were you on morphine to begin with?? Ask your doctor how to wean off, don't know why you're asking a med forum how to wean off unless you've gotten yourself addicted from buying them on the street. I don't get it, why do people have to ask questions on here that their doctors s/b answering for them.
