Have been on 240 mg morphine sulphate per day for 6 yrs and of course is not doing as best as it used to for me to function in my daily life. I want to ask for a conversion to an oxycodone type med since I have been accumulated to that before..I have the back syndrome of HANDS OFF by every doc since 2004 to present. I need to keep myself on a productive path as I'm on now. What equivalent of oxycodone is at my present dose please? Thank you.

Hello, River! How are you?

Oxycodone is approximately 1 and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd only need 160mgs of it each day.

Have you discussed the issue with your current doctor?

How long has it been since you've taking Oxycodone?

I just posted a link which gives information regarding what medication is equivalent to another. Regardless I would check with my doctor and they of course should be able to give you the correct information also your pharmacist should be able to give you the accurate information.

You might need Dilaudid. You have developed a tolerance to morphine.
