10mg Morphine Sulfate Doesn't Help Chronic Pain

My Dr doesn't want to treat my chronic pain cause she says it's untreatable...? Here's what she's done in the meantime, she prescribed 10mg max 3 per day of Morphine sulfate and she thinks that's a high dose, which does nothing for me. I've had my right knee replacement done 3yrs ago and my left knee being scheduled this fall. The pain is unbelievably awful. Pain is shooting from my knee up into my thigh and lower back. I've had over twenty surgeries so far in other areas of my body including amputations. The new doctors won't help people in pain anymore. Ridiculous.

Have you tried seeing if you can consult a different doctor? Someone else might help more.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you considered non-narcotic options?

I'm on 15 mg and so far the pain is the same. Is bad I have a replaced left knee twice already. I go to a Pain Clinic. I wish I can find a good lawyer and sue this jack asses for malpractice.

First I’d let your doctor now you are in pain. Then what you need to realize is that all the pain Meds in the world can’t make alll the pain go away.

Believe it or not the best to hope for from Meds is 30-40% relief. You will never be pain free. Unfortunately that’s the reality of opiods.
