10 Mg Nortriptyline Usage

I am 27 and have been having migraines since i was 10. I have been on everything for them and nothing helps. My new doctor put me on nortriptyline 10 mg before bed and im scared to take it because like i said before i have tried everything and nothing worked. I dont want another disappointment. Can anyone help me?

Hello, Leah! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've experienced.

No matter what we take a medication to treat, there is always a chance that it won't work, that's just the reality of medical science. There's no real exact guarantees that can ever be made. Sometimes, you do have to try multiple medications to find the one that works for you.

When I suffered congestive heart failure over 6 years ago, many of the medications to lower my blood pressure either didn't work for me, made me horribly ill, or in some cases they did both!! It took almost 2 years to find the right ones to help me.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Nortriptyline as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.

Can anyone that's taken it chime in with their experiences?
