Found this capsule in my house. Have "grilled" the youth in the home with no answers. Can anyone help identify it? I took pictures of it. The heart was small and white (outline of a heart - not colored in). The inside was a dark brown hard material (not small balls like I would have expected).

Hello Mom of three,

I did some searching and I was unable to identify the pill that you have. What I can tell you is that I am certain what you have found is not a prescription drug. In the U.S the FDA requires that all prescribed medication should be identifiable by it's appearance (imprint, shape, color, size etc.). With prescription drugs ruled out you really only have vitamins, supplements and illegal substances left.

Using the recovery first organization's illegal drug identifier I can say that this does not fit any of the listed illegal substances. Nor does it look like anything that I am able to pull up pictures of.

This leaves us with dietary supplements and vitamins. This one is extremely tricky because these categories are near impossible to track down due to the sheer volume of different supplement and vitamin types and manufacturers. In addition, a manufacturer can decide to re brand and change the look of a vitamin or supplement at any given time which makes finding them even harder to find. Even though Chance mentioned previously that it is an energy pill but even with this information I was still unable to pull up the identity of the pill.

Some options you do have in order to identify the pill is to take it to a local pharmacy and see if they will analyze the contents of the pill for you. If you would rather dispose of the pill you can simply drop it off at any drug drop off located at most pharmacies and hospitals.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to identify the pill but as a parent myself I hope this information gives you some relief knowing that your children were not involved in anything serious.
