Tecta

I was wondering if by using the drug Tecta if it causes weight gain or causes bloating or retaining water? ## From what I can find, this contains the active ingredient Pantoprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat or prevent conditions, such as heartburn, ulcers, GERD and Gastritis. And it can cause some gas and bloating, as a side effect, however, it is rarely known to cause water retention, but it has happened in some people. Have you contacted your doctor? If it is causing you to experience fluid retention, you will probably need to try a different medication. ## I was taking tecta and have also been stablized of methadone for 20 years..When taking the tecta it almost killed me combined with the methadone. Loss taste may be gerd

I lost my sense of taste a few weeks ago. Mostly sweets. It comes back sometimes but always goes back out. I also have a sore throat and phlegm. Smell appears fine. The doctor thinks I may have GERD because of the throat issues and I do burp a lot. When I do burp there is no taste to it like heartburn but he says that there doesn't have to be. I took my first pill today and today was a decent tasting day. Within four hours of taking the pill my taste was gone again. I how this is a coincidence. I had tried 75 mg of Zantac before and didn't see a difference either way. Could taking the Tecta be making my taste worse if my issue is in fact not gerd? Also can it cause constipation? Antibiotics for example give me severe constipation. I'm starting to get very depressed with the ...

Here's something interesting for all Zantac users

(Reuters) - CVS Health Corp said on Saturday it will discontinue sales on the popular Zantac heartburn treatment and its own generic ranitidine products from its pharmacies after traces of a known carcinogen were found in some of the products by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA said earlier this month that some of the pills contained small amounts N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), which has also been found in some widely used blood pressure medicines, leading to shortages of those drugs. CVS said the move to suspend sales of the over-the-counter heartburn drug was taken out of caution while the FDA continues to review if low levels of NDMA in ranitidine - the active ingredient in Zantac - poses a health risk to patients. "Zantac brand products and CVS brand ranitidine pro...

pantoprazole 40mg pain on right side and back also

I have been taking pantoprazole 40mg for almost 3 months now and while it helped my abdominal pain after 1 month of use the symptoms are now returning in a milder form. I experience sharp pain in my upper left side ( stomach area), gas and hunger pains that are normally relieved by eating. Lately, the discomfort can be felt on the right side slightly also and in my left side and back. What is going on? Shouldn't the medication help this? ## Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach, so it can help treat or prevent conditions such as ulcers, GERD, heartburn and gastritis. But it can cause stomach pain and bloating as side effects, so that may be what's causing your problem. Alternatively, you may have something else going on a...
