Sleep Aid Overview

Hypnotic (from Greek Hypnos, sleep), or soporific drugs, commonly known as sleeping pills, are a class of psychoactive drugs whose primary function is to induce sleep[1] and for the treatment of insomnia (sleeplessness), or for surgical anesthesia.[note 1] This group is related to sedatives. Whereas the term sedative describes drugs that serve to calm or relieve anxiety, the term hypnotic generally describes drugs whose main purpose is to initiate, sustain, or ...

Sleep Medications stronger than Melatonin

Does anybody know any prescription strength sleep aids that are stronger than Melatonin? I have been using at least 10 mg Melatonin a night at bedtime for a few years but it isn’t working like it used to. Keep in mind this is when needed and I would talk to my doctor about this once I have a list related towards this. ## I am 89 and have used Ambien, 5 mg. dose for years, with no bad side effects. It gently brings on a sleepy feeling and usually lasts thru the night. A slight hazy feeling in the a.m. lasts for about an hour but that's all. Recommend that dosage. ## Melatonin is an OTC natural brain chemical, it supposed to have a calming effect. It's about as strong as Benadryl, if you know what I mean. There are many different sleep medications available, and some of the ...

Seconal Shortage-2 years, Enough is Enough

Bausch health, as the sole supplier of this 80 year old insomnia CURE, (and 2 year testament of my success 1st hand with 200mgs a night) and the legions of agonizing deaths of terminal ill patients that have chosen physician assisted suicide have now have been suffering AGONIZING end of life treatments in the wake of this shortage. These agonizing deaths are on your hands due to your unwillingness to manufacture Seconal. Seconal, first line treatment and painless/peaceful exit of this world w/ their loved ones from their terminal illness. My insomnia has been barely curtailed minimally with heavy benzos to have bare minimum 4 hours a night. These terminally ill patients are the ones that have been suffering the most with their substitute for Seconal, a 3 med concoction which anecdotally...

Zolfed 10 (Ambien)

I've been researching for 2 hours. The alleged manufacturer in India doesn't even make this product. And what they're putting in the pills will make you sick. ## @Jd, If you received these from an unlicensed pharmacy then in my opinion it's more than likely a scam product. I notice that some of the internet pharmacies based over in India make up random brand names for otherwise popular medications to maybe throw people off. Zolfed for example sounds like a knock-off name of Zoloft or Zolpidem. Unfortunately with false marketing at hand, there's no way to know for sure what these tablets contain unless you were to have the tablet analyzed by a lab. What was the name of the company you went through? And did you file a complaint with your credit/debit card institution? ...

Sun Zolpidem ER 12.5

For about a year now my Walgreens Pharmacy has only been able to get the Sun brand, and even that is often on back order. Several times I’ve had a bottle that several of the pills just dont work. Has anyone else had this experience? I’ve had other brands that seemed to work better but don’t remember the makers. A friend told me that he has experienced this issue as has his sister, but he didn’t know the maker. Does anyone have a brand that works better than others? ## Simply put, the ER formulations for me never helped much only instant release did and worked very well...much much better than the Extended Release. Ask the Doctor for a low dosage of the Immediate release, if they will do that. It seems the ER formula isnt working for you. I was also taking the 12....

behavioural disorders from debendox

Can taking debendox result in humans developing behavioural disorders that are cyclic in the way they present.my daughter (35yrs old now) can appear quite normal for weeks at a time then she will exhibit borderline pshchotic behaviour then after a few days she will be OK again. ## This contains Pyridoxine and Doxylamine, it isn't used in the U.S., so I have to admit my information on it is limited. Her symptoms, however, sound similar to those of bipolar disorder. Learn more Bipolar disorder details here. Have you consulted a doctor? ## I took debendox when pregnant with my noiw 33 year old daughter. She has problems emotionally but is very bright. I have friends who also took this drug and their children have the same problems. Its almost like they dont grow up and over react to ma...

Zopiclone 10mg

I have just received from Pharmastores zopiclone (10mg) which is blue, oval with one score on one side and what looks like the egyptian eye as a marking. I'm concerned. I notice that this has been mentioned by folk in the past and someone has said they may be from Eva Pharm, Egypt. Has anyone taken them. I'm nervous and would really, really appreciate some advice. ## I have just received the same tabs as you described which are blue, oval with one score on one side and an egyptian eye on the other side. Did you use these tablets and did they work as I am a little bit unsure about them! ## Iv taken them, there the real deal so don't worry and I promise the have the metallic taste and everything ## zopiclone tablets come in in 3.5mg and 7.5 mg, pretty sure it doesn't come i...

Scarcity of Zolpidem Tartrate (generic Ambien)

For many years Qualitest has furnished an excellent generic version of Ambien 10 mg. I have tried various other manufacturers ---Teva, Mylan and they do not work for me. I called Qualitest (now part of Endo and Par Pharma) --- customer service on 2/24/16 and they indicated that they are getting allot of inquiries and stopped producing it in Oct 2015, due to "inability to get certain ingredients." I find this bizarre. It was a great seller. My pharmacy also indicated that there is a posting that several other generic companies are also not shipping this product other than the 2 above. ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? Yes, that is correct, most manufactures have a shortage listed with no known date of availability. Shortages, such as this that say they can't get the relevant ingr...

Zolpidem Generic

ALL CVS pharmacies just changed the zolpidem from MYLAN manufacturer (out of PA) to TORRENT in India. Because generics can certain behave differently, I am nervous about taking the (10 mg) oblong peach Torrent brand one after reading some things online. I also don't like the idea of CVS using from out of the country manufacturer which HAS to be due to a better price because MYLAN brand is still very readily available. Any comments? ## The country doesn't matter, as long as the manufacturer has approval from the FDA for their products to be sold in the U.S., CVS or any other pharmacy, can stock their products. There can be some differences in generic medications, however, this usually doesn't affect the greater number of the people that take it. If you are aware of how it nor...

Melatonin neuro side effects

Hi all!! I have a 19 yr old son who needed to sleep. His friends recommended melatonin. He took 5 mgs. About an hour after he took it, he said he woke up feeling bad - - "waves" like he was on the ocean, sweating, felt like "I was dying". He has major depression and stopped taking meds about 2 yrs ago bc they were making him feel worse. I know melatonin works on serotonin levels in some way and was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything similar? He said he was restless all night but every time he woke, he felt like he'd slept for 8 hrs. Idk whether he should ever take another one!! ## That is rather odd, Melatonin supplements usually only cause drowsiness, and occasionally some mild nausea, in people that take it. It is a substance that is naturally presen...
