Hi, my psychiatrist has put me on Zytomil 10mg and 10mg for Pasrin , 3 months ago.I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, panick attacks, major depressive disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. I'm struggling at the moment to take my medication because i fear the effects of these medicatios. I struggle with these disorders on a daily basis and would like for them to go away, but my FEAR of these medications is standing in the way. I don't want to take a pill then end up having a panic attack because I'm too busy worrying on what bad these pills can do to me. I think my problem is that im too worried about the 'bad' effects more then anything. I keep googling these medications and everytime i read up i find so many side effects. The chemist gave me Zytomil but I have been on Lexamil for 12 years. Is it the same or am I going to start side effects again? ## Hello diane, Both Zytomil and Lexamil contain the same active ingredient Escitalopram Oxalate, so to some degree yes the drugs are the same. What may seperate these pills is what inactive ingredients they use which will determine a number of things including how long it takes you to absorb the drug, flavor, release timing, administration technique etc. I don't see a reason that you would start experiencing adverse effects so long as you don't react poorly to the new inactive ingredients. It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. Hi! I am on lexamil 5 mg daily for a week before that wellbutrin 150 mg and 5 mg lexamil for 4 weeks before that wellbutrin 300 mg for 2 years. Weaning from the Wellbutrin because dr feels that it increases my anxiety, which is my main problem. Can these meds lead to alcohol blackouts?
