My Psychiatrist has me on 200 mg. of zoloft and I'm, being tapered (my choice) off of klonipin--currently 1mg. I'm terrified of getting serotonin syndrome! I was also on trazodone to help me sleep until I read about ser. syndrome. So now, I just deal with the insomnia. Anyone else have this terror? ## It is a very rare occurrence, so not something that you should genuinely be terrified about. The Zoloft contains the active ingredient Sertraline, which is an SSRI antidepressant and there is as much a chance of it causing serotonin syndrome as there was with the Trazodone. Have you discussed these concerns with your doctor?

Hi there. So I have been on zoloft since I was 14 years old. I am now 21 years old. I started at a low dose and made my way up to 200 mg. So I have been on zoloft for 7 years. My anxiety was horrible when I was younger. I constantly felt like I couldn't breathe and that my heart was racing. I felt like the breaths I took were not full and I would worry and worry until I went into a complete panic. For 7 years, the anxiety was gone. I never had a symptom of it. Never had trouble breathing or feeling that way. Since about a week ago, everything came back. I was prescribed with amoxicillan, biaxin, and prevacid for a bacteria called "h. pylori" in my stomach. It is not that serious but the antibiotics are strong and I am taking a LOT of them. (2000 mg of ammox a day..) The doc ...

I am on 200 mg per day and it has been an excellent solution for me. I was experiencing severe anxiety attacks due to a life situation, it eliminated that. 2 sides effects: decreased libido and tremors. One fascinating effect: I call them "brain tours". They happen when sleeping at night or dozing in the chair. My body will be absolutely asleep but my brain is 100% awake and alert. I can hear other people' s conversations and remember them, I confirmed it the next day. One night I made up a nonsense word during a tour, I thought if it was a dream I'd forget the word because I forget dreams. I still know the word, flibberpeanut. During tours i cannot move my body, like in REM sleep. The first few times it scared me but now it is fascinating. I use these tours to explore t...
