Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and irritability. Read more: So no, it is not similar, nor in the same class as Aropax, which contains the active ingredient Paroxetine, this one is an SSRI antidepressant. Have you switched from one to the other? ## I was given this as part of a 'cocktail' for cluster migraines and find it strange that a side effect is a headache???? Do you think it is OK to keep taking them when i get the migraine?

The doctor prescribed Pax 1 3 times a day. i am 5 weeks pregnant. Is it really safe? ## Pax contains the active ingredient Diazepam and no, it is generally isn't recommended that it be used during pregnancy. In early pregnancy, it has been known to cause congenital malformations and in late pregnancy, the infant can be born with Benzodiazepine intoxication. Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor?

I just started taking Paxil two days ago. As of this moment I feel sick and depressed. I started taking Paxil after two weeks of Effexor made my symptoms much worse. I feel like I'm hanging onto my sanity by a thread. All these brief ups and and never ending downs are just too much to deal with on a daily basis. Please Paxil work your magic!! ## Hello, Ed! How are you? Unfortunately, many antidepressants can cause a temporary worsening of symptoms for a few weeks, before things change and your symptoms start to improve. I take one for PMS/perimenopausal irritability and overtime we adjust the dosage, I just tend to expect it for about 3 weeks, before I see an improvement. The FDA lists Paxil as being an SSRI antidepressant and its typical side effects are listed as possibly includin...

Starting Paxil from Mirtazapine, all the hype of Mirtazapine is wrong. It works for about 3 weeks, then pooooooph done. Has anyone tapered to Paxil from Mirtazapine? IF SO, WAS IT PAINLESS OR POINTLESS? ## Not every medication works for everyone that tries it. I am sorry the Mirtazapine didn't work well for you, but there are many people that do experience good results with it. Paxil always worked well for my ex-husband, though I've not taken it myself. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. Can anyone that's switched from one to the other chime in with their experiences?

Can Seroquel 50mg be taken together with pax 10 mg ## Yes, unfortunately these class of medications (anti-psychotics) do carry the side effect of weight gain. These meds actually slow down your metabolism causing weight gain. If you are using it for sleep which is what a lot of us are prescribing it for, so as to not get you hooked on sleeping pills. These meds side effect of sleepiness is why we use this even if you're not psychotic. Try breaking one in half with a knife and try using just half. Whatever you do if you are taking them every night you DO NOT stop taking this medication before speaking with your doctor first. Abrubt stopping of these meds could cause seizures and other problems you will have to be titraited from the drug if you so choose. It is a good drug for occasio...

Has anyone noticed that taking generic Paxil is not as effective as the real deal? I'm having a terrible time with recurring anxiety symptoms. ## While patients may experience slight differences between medications, the generic market is highly regulated in both the U.S. and Australia (where I live). The drug concentration is the same within the tablet, it will have the same absorption profile, same extent of absorption. Therefore in all likelyhood it should work exactly the same (within acceptable limits) as the original brand. The only changes present could be due to the inactive ingredients within the formulation which a patient may be sensitive or intolerant to. While this does not affect the effectiveness of the medication it may introduce side-effects.

I have been on Paxil for anxiety for about 6 months, I was having trouble sleeping so my Dr added Trazodone 50mg 1 an hour before bedtime. Just wondering if anyone has been on the two together, and is it safe, since Traodone is also an antidepressant, I have to say I actually feel even better now, than when I was just taking the Paxil. I have been taking the Trazodone for about a month now. ## Hi Sandie, Hopefully your doctor was aware of this before adding the Trazodone, but according to various drug interaction checkers, combining these two medications may increase your risk of developing a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome. Symptoms associated with serotonin syndrome that you may want to watch out for, can include the following: Confusion, hallucination, blurred vi...

Loretta, the time of day it is taken doesn't matter, it will still reach its level of efficacy in the body, it doesn't matter if you take it during the day, or at night. I take both of these meds on a regular basis and have for over 3 years. I am moving to Pensacola Florida, I am worried about finding a Dr. Who will write these meds for me. I also take 100 mg of trazadone at bed time . It works great after about an hour and a half of being very irritable, restless and shaky. My Dr does not seem too concerned about this side effect. My question is does anyone know of a good Dr in Pensacola that would write these scripts considering my medical history. And does anyone relate to the side effects of trazadone. Thanks for any response.

What is this tablet prescribed for and what are the side effects? I have not started it yet and feel a little nervous. ## I have been taking Paxidep CR 25 for the last 7 years, but now I am getting side effects of this medicine. Always drowsiness and always in sleeping mood. I can't read news paper - whenever I am trying to to read within 10 second my eyes will be closed and I was in a sleeping position. ## @Vinu - Paxidep CR is prescribed for anxiety and depression, and contains the active ingredient Paroxetine. The manufacturer is Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd. [1] The American brand for this drug is Paxil. @Ajay, drowsiness is actually listed as one of the side effects of Paroxetine. I'm surprised you are just now experiencing this after 7 years. Has your prescription changed manuf...

Left my paxil at home and I'm on trip. Can I take my wives prozac for a few days or just skip my antidepressant altogether? ## Hello, Chrissy! How are you? It would be best to check with your doctor, because the doses differ from one to the other, even though they are in the same class of medications. If you skip it for the duration of your trip, you may experience withdrawal effects, that may include nausea, diarrhea, rebound depression and anxiety. What dosages do you each take?

Do I need to wean off Viibryd if I only took for 2 weeks? My anxiety is through the roof and I'd rather just go back to Paxil and deal with the weight gain. Can I just switch back without issues or do I need to taper down the 20 mg of Viibryd like when I started it? ## I need to know the same thing been on Viibryd 3 weeks Panic is intense can’t handle it I think I felt better on paxil ## Our bodies all are subject to respond differently to quitting cold-turkey or tapering off something like Viibryd 2-3 weeks into treatment. However, working closely with your prescribing doctor on a tapering plan is probably the safest method for quitting, in my own humble opinion, especially if you don't know whether it's deemed necessary or not and are left undecided on a specific app...

Actually, after just a week, tapering usually isn't necessary. How are feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects? The FDA classifies this medication as an SSRI antidepressant and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. ## Verwon hey hi are you and thanks for asking I am okay I just wanted to know if I did the right thing all I have experience for right now is Alot of sweating at night and my head fill Heavy at times well not such heavy but like a lil headache are something how long will it take for it to completely out m...

I have tried many meds on paxil three weeks just went from 20 to 30 today no improvement in my OCD anxiety depression and PTSD has it worked for anyone if do how long did it take please help ## I have now been on paxil over four weeks three weeks At 20 and over one on thirty no improvement at all I Am terrified nothing will work did anyone have this happen ## Hi Theresa, Based on my research, it can take 4-6 weeks for Paxil to take effect. Keep in mind that medication effects everyone differently, so no matter what kind of experience someone else has (positive or negative) that cannot determine what effect it will have on you. If you don't notice a change after a couple weeks, you may need to consider trying a different medication or other methods of treatment. I actually took Paxil...

I have been taking tramadol for about 8 years now. About 5 a day (50) mgs. Does anyone know if the withdrawals from tramadol would be better if I started taking paxil instead. I have never had a problem ordering tramadol online until now but I do have a Rx of paxil. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ## Since you've been taking Tramadol for 8 years, your body has probably become largely dependent on it; so unless you've tapered off to some degree, it's very "likely" that physical withdrawal symptoms will occur. Protecting your emotions, feelings, & mental fortitude with antidepressants sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure if it will prevent certain physical symptoms (including pain) or any other reactions from occurring unless they are...
