My Dermatologist suggested that I take xorimax for 4 months to clear my severe acne. I have cystic acne as well as white heads and black heads. I can't take accutane as I am planning to start a family. I was just wondering that isn't that a very long dose of antibiotics. Any suggestions? ## I went through 5 rounds of accutane in my 20's. I had severe bloody noses several times, and what could only be described as clenching headaches one evening that started on one side and moved to the other in an intense throbbing sensation. My dermatologist said it was a precursor to a stroke. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. However, yellow phlegm does not always mean that an infection is present, according to the NIH, although it was thought to be true for many, many years. It has been discovered in more modern times that it may just mean your body is fighting off a cold, or other issue. Thus, you should not take an antibiotic, unless your doctor confirms the presence of an infection.

Hi, I am 18 weeks pregnant, and I had a yeast infection so my OB Gyne prescribed me Xorimax 500mg twice a day every 12 hours for two weeks. I have been taking the medication for 8 days now and intend to stop taking it because I fear that it may not be safe to take this medication for more than a week??? Other than that, I don't think I have the yeast infection anymore since I don't have the discharges I used to have. Will it be okay if I discontinue the medication? What about the yeast infection, will it come back if I do not finish the treatment?
