Xeralto And Back Pain

I have been on Xeralto for6 months following PE and clots from having a cast on my leg due to a fractured ankle... The cast was promptly taken off obviously with the ankle left to heal with nothing on it..my ankle has still not healed completely and I do have pain in my lower leg and knees some days..how do I know if the pain is from leg muscle not being used for 6 months or the xeralto ## Hello, Maureen! How are you? It is hard to say, it could be due to either, or, perhaps both. The NIH lists both as being possible causes, since Xarelto has been known to cause such issues as a side effect, in some people that take it. However, I have to judge on the pain, so if it is occurring in both legs, rather than just the injured one, then my best guess would be that it is due to the medication....

Taking xarelto and left leg is swollen, tight and very painful from the knee up to the groin area. Have any idea what this could be? ## I have similar problems after 4 months on Xarelto. My left knee also has weird tightness and all joints are extremely stiff. I was a very active 51 year-old that went to feeling 71 in a matter of weeks. I cannot attribute this to anything but this medicine due to the timing of my symptoms and when I began the medication. But I don't get much out of my Dr. on it. I will go off of it in a little over a month and am keeping my fingers crossed that my body will go back to normal? But I'm freaked out right now. I was on warfarin for 16yrs but after such a long time taking between 15-20mg a day my doctors took my off warfarin. I started Xeralto 2 weeks ago, a week ago i had a lumbar and cervical pain block. I now have extremely low blood pressure, when i get up or move around i black out, i have no balance and i experience ringing noise in my ears, disorientation, blurred vision and I feel horrible. I am at the point to stop the drug as i am in bed all the time, i cant do simple things like showering or washing hair on my own. The risk of falling and bumping my head could be fatal. I am also very bloated, retaining water and experience pain in my legs after having a cervical and lumber pain block a week ago in theatre. I honestly dont know what to do. I am having extreme joint discomfort where I can’t move. I’ve been on it six months in the last 2 months I’ve noticed memory loss. Is that a side effect. I can’t seem to get off Xeralto when I do I get pains where my clots are. I am on 10 mg’s. How long does it take your body to go back to no pain. ## It has been known to cause some pain in arms and legs, as a side effect, as well as headache, according to FDA reports. But this extreme pain and memory loss are not normal side effects. Have you consulted your doctor? Hi i have been on xeralto since july 2014. i have extreme fatigue, weight gain,abdominal pain, occassional woozy spells with dizziness. now i am having blurred vision with my glasses on cant see happened while driving scared me. i drove very slow till i got home and it is still happening for 2days now. i do have a headache as well and going into deep sleep. any onr have.this. Oh yea at night my arms go to sleep and tingle alot. i dont take any other meds my body all ways has every side effect when i take them. i get so nauseated at time. i want off of.this. i have P.E.s....just wanted to share my ecperience. I am training really hard, but I don't get sore after. Could this be because of the xeralto. Thank you ## Hello, Ange! How are you? I doubt it, Xeralto is actually reported by the FDA as causing aches and pains as side effects in some people that take it. As to your training, are you usually doing the same things at the same intensity? Because, if so, then it is normal for your body to get used to it and stop getting so sore and achy.
