I have been taking xanax for about two years to cope with anxiety. I am currently on 1mg of xanax extended release pills 2 times a day. This month I was taking 3 pills a day because I was feeling like 2 wern't keeping my anxiety at bay. Well, I ran out yesterday morning, that night was the start of this nightmare. Its now the second day without my medication and I am starting to feel like im going to die. Im shaky and have a tension headache on the back of my neck. I have 2 refills but my pharmacy said that they can not fill my prescription for 6 more days :'( I feel like im in hell, I have work tomorrow and cant sleep with what feels like withdraws hitting me like a car. Okay. I've been eating Xanax like candy since February when my dr did prescribe me 1 mg a day... But I often took more than that. I went from about 8 mg a day to 1 mg a day a few weeks ago... My withdrawal symptoms are awful, I even had a seizure 2 months ago when I tried to go cold turkey. I have excessive sweating, my forehead is on FIRE, I can't eat, I feel like I'm panicking constantly. What are my odds of dying at this point? I mean, it's been a few weeks... I just had a bad withdrawal from green 2mg bars. I have taken anti-anxiiety meds for years, mainly xanax. I will not take them again! My w/d consisted of migraines, hallucinations, tremors,, catatonic states of mind, extended stomach and just not wanting to live. I have been taking 1mg Xanax for about 3 months and then I went up to the 2mg Xanax now and have been taking them about 5-6 a day, well, finally ran out and being a medical professional, I can't go into my dr and say I need more when their not due or any drug seeking behavior. I have been taking Xanax off and on for about 7 months and lately I have only been taking .25 mg like twice a week. I have been taking xanax for a lil while now. I am perscribed a bar and a half every single day. I am young. I had taken one to many of my script on Tuesday I took the last quarter of my bar right in the morning next early after afternoon feeding my toddler lunch I had a horrible seizure I banged my head on the foamed at the mouth and everything went to hospital and all the first one did was give me a cat scan. I am now into my 4th day off of suboxane. The side effects are getting better. I used .5mg xanax, sometimes I took up to four the first two days off of suboxane. By the end of this week, I feel I should be OK. I am Taking 3 , .5mg of xanax throughout the day and night at the moment. I want to begin to taper off xanax.. I have been using Xanax for awhile. my doctor wanted to change me to buspar, or corse, but I tried it for a ffew day and had horrible so I said the hell with it. but after time I tried on occation not to take the Xanax to see if the buspar was working and it was. although, I did have a panic attact within a week of stopping the Xanax. I have been in pain management for years, lost my doctor along with other patients, and primary won't fill or says she can't and messes up my progress to get in new pain management in time. shakeing, muscle cramps and nausia ## Xanax contains the active ingredient Alprazolam, this is a Benzodiazepine and they are notoriously easy to become dependent on or addicted to and the withdrawal effects can be pretty severe. What you are describing are normal withdrawal effects, you may also experience diarrhea, insomnia and increased blood pressure and heart rate. Have you tried consulting a medical professional for assistance in possibly tapering off the medication? I have take Harvoni for 6 months. Along with xanax and sometimes ambein to help sleep. I have been off two days and my fatigue is worse. I can not sleep. My mind is overtime.
