pill yellow imprint 196 ## i have been put on 1 mg Xanax per day recently inlast 20 days for anxiety,seems to be working. if i take a whole pill i cannot wake up very easy so i have started taking half a pill which is usually around 10 pm at night. I have done a lot of reading on the new United States 2013 Xanax laws. There aren't any? You can still obtain up to a 6 month supply of any schedule IV (4) medicine which includes Xanax. Some States have limited MD's to writing for a 30 day supply even forcing you to see a Specialist and putting you on a 'performance plan'. Please do not confuse local and State laws with Federal laws! ## I haven't come across any new laws pertaining to the use of Xanax in my research either. i have pfizer er they are no good. can i make them ir? they are scored on the bottom ## I honestly don't think breaking them would take away their extended release properties, especially if they are in tablet form. None the less it would probably be more dangerous to do it that way rather than getting a different prescription. Your body would be absorbing the full dose at once in a way that it's not meant to. Xanax is one of the last drugs you'd want to OD on, so I can only encourage you to play it safe. The score line is actually just for dividing your dose in two. Have you tried any other brand or generic of Xanax? They all seem to have different levels of potency depending on the manufacturer and which inactive ingredients are present. Do the shapes / colors or numbers on a pill or manufacturer have anything to do with which pill is stronger if the are the same mg? ## That can be an indicator of strength, however not always? Pills range from .25 mg to 2 mg with a 3 mg extended release version. Size is a factor as well, a 2 mg "School Bus" or "Pie" & the 3 mg ER are larger than your 1 mg dose. There are also illegal Xanax that claim to be up to 5 mg or more. Yes, these are the weakest Xanax on the market but some people will actually feel the and they could work for anxiety/time zone as indicated, m so there is no reason for a doctor to start someone off on higher doses when smaller ones could suffice. I have been on .5 xanax twice a day for the last 3 or 4 months. I took my last dose 2 days ago and only took .5 for the day. I was afraid of getting addicted after all the horror stories. I just filled my script that was Supossed to be Xanax 1 mg extended release.. Xr or ER.. Anyway I my meds are usually a bigger white pill.. i have recently been prescribed ativan which seems to help some,but i am wondering if xanax would work better ## they are roughly equivalent, but Xanax hits the nervous system faster, and gets out of you system faster. Both good for panic, crappy for sleep, wouldn't use either for persistant symptoms of anxiety. ## Just to add some further information.... She took 20 round blue xanax, 10 25 mg Promethazine and 2 50 mg Pristique that I know of for sure, Tuesday between 3:30 and 9:30 PM. At 5 AM Wednesday her BP was 134/35 and heart rate of 115. I just had a bad withdrawal from green 2mg bars. I have taken anti-anxiiety meds for years, mainly xanax. I will not take them again! Life is hard! Sometimes we need medicine to get by. I was hooked on xanax and when I ran out prematurely- cuz we all build a tolerance- id end up in the ER w my bp 200/110! The xanax works so well, yet when you are due for the next dose, your nerves are real bad! The tolerance building makes us take more and more and more. I prob was in the er 35x w ' i ran out of my meds' problem. I have PTSD and need a benzo; nothing else touches my panic. Now, I take valium. It works and Ive never been in the ER since switching. Alprazolam aka Xanax It's a generic version of Xanax (alprazolam 2mg) ## Thanks for the info Lego. From what I've researched Kalma appears to be an Australian trade name of Alprazolam, made by Alphapharm. It reportedly comes in 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg and 2mg dosage forms and carries the following set of inactive ingredients: lactose sodium benzoate maize starch magnesium stearate sodium starch glycollate microcrystalline cellulose colloidal anhydrous silica povidone docusate sodium indigo carmine (Kalma 0.5 mg and Kalma 1 mg only) erythrosine (Kalma 0.5 mg only) The tablets are also listed as being gluten free. Hope this info helps anyone else who may be interested in asking their doctor about taking Kalma.
