Xanax 1 Mg Withdrawal Symptoms

Okay. I've been eating Xanax like candy since February when my dr did prescribe me 1 mg a day... But I often took more than that. I went from about 8 mg a day to 1 mg a day a few weeks ago... My withdrawal symptoms are awful, I even had a seizure 2 months ago when I tried to go cold turkey. I have excessive sweating, my forehead is on FIRE, I can't eat, I feel like I'm panicking constantly. What are my odds of dying at this point? I mean, it's been a few weeks... Wouldn't that have happened by now? I'm scared. My dr cut my 1 mg dosage completely in half to .5 mg a day... I just need some advice... I don't know what to do. ## It happened to me on 3 mg a day. I stopped cold turkey and experienced all the symptoms you mentioned and some others you didn't. I ...

I have been taking Xanax off and on for about 7 months and lately I have only been taking .25 mg like twice a week. I want to stop taking Xanax all together but everytime I wait like 3 to 4 days I start feeling extreme anxiety and I feel like I need to take some Xanax. And I only take .25mg. Is this anxiety because I am going through withdraws? How can I stop taking Xanax all together and not experience anyone withdrawal symptoms? Anyone have any advice on what I should do? I want to stop Xanax but I also don't want anymore anxiety. Please help me with some advice ## If you are being honest you must know that you are NOT going through withdrawals. Will that mean your anxiety will go away or come back, possibly even stronger than before, well that is possible. Some people need medica...

How many milligrams of Xanax are three Clorazepate 7.5 mg equal to? I'm asking for a friend. She was prescribed 3 Clorazepate 7.5 mg tablets a day to help wean off three 2mg doses of Xanax a day. ## Even though both Xanax and Clorazepate are classified as benzodiazepines, my take on this is that no two drugs are created equally; whereas not only the half-life varies, but also the duration of effect, the potency and the binders/fillers that affect bioavailability. Therefore the only way to determine if you're benefiting from or the other on a similar level would be through trial and error. I don't encourage anyone to just start experimenting on their own, but perhaps your friend's doctor can make some suggestions that may alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms without ha...

If I stop taking .5mg of xanax after only2 months wwhat's the risk of a possible seizure ## Slight ## It would ultimately be best to talk with your doctor about tapering first. But from what I've been reading, most people shouldn't have any severe problems after stopping xanax at that low of a dose. The National Anxiety Foundation states that cold turkey-ing 4mgs or more is notably what can cause moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms and/or convulsions in some cases. So in my honest opinion the risk for you is very slim. Does anyone else have advice on this from personal experience? ## 3 MG brought on a week of Hospitalization for me! ## I take 1 mg of Lorazepam Three times a day and I have gone off it no problem. Lorazepam is very close to what Xanax is so you may want to ...

So I've been prescribed 0.5 mg xanax for about 7 months now. I take it almost everyday. Sometimes I take more (0.75- 1 mg) or sometimes I take less (0.25 mg) but most often I will take 0.5 mg. I tend to not be able to eat unless I take it. I don't take it more than once a day if I do. The longest ill go without it is every other day. Its been a while since this started, like I said 7 months. Could I get withdrawal from stopping altogether? The fact that I can't eat without it, is that a withdrawal symptoms? (As soon as it kicks in I have no problem eating, but can't seem to eat a thing when im not on it) Or is it just anxiety symptoms? ## It is a sign of a withdrawal, actually rebound anxiety. By varying your dose, you are messing with your body chemistry & your mind...

I have a current prescription of Xanax 2mg. 4x a day that runs out tomorrow need to find a new Dr. as mine is out sick indefinitely. Can somebody help me? I'm scared!!! ## 8 mg a day is a dose that is very high. You should have begun tapering or looking for a replacement doctor sooner if that was even possible. If you feel the withdrawal symptoms, too many to mention, GET to an E.R. and seek help. In the mean time consider an Urgent Care place and bring your paperwork ## Thank you Eddy. Do you think Urgent Care will help me? I was told don't even bother to do that or go to the ER. ## Honestly no for this type of medicine, but there is nothing worse than running out on this drug ## Whoever told you that the E.R is wasting your time is doing you a disservice. ## Can someone please...

Been on 1 mg of klonopin twice a day. Then went to 1 mg twice a day. Then .05 1 one daily stated having with draws doctor added 10 paxil is that OK ## Is it ok, not really? How long have you been in the process of tapering? Doctors will tell you they are addictive then yank them from you. I was given two bottles of this, told is was much easier to withdraw from than Xanax. Then I found out that wasn't true. If the pain gets worse go to the E.R. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The reason the doctor added the Paxil was most likely to help mitigate the withdrawals. It is an SSRI antidepressant that can help with anxiety and other symptoms that often accompany withdrawals. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed xanax about 4-5 days ago. I been takin 1 mg a day, but have decided to cut back to .5mg due to all the scary stuff I'm reading. If Im able to get off xanax within a month or two, will this have any affects on me? Also, I'm going to do it under doctor supervision, so should the withdrawls symptoms be less? ## Well, you should discuss your concerns with you doctor to be sure, but no short term use isn't likely to cause any major issues and the withdrawal symptoms should be minimal, if it's tapered slowly. What has you so afraid of taking it? ## I would get off now. I've talked to several doctors and they all say the same thing.... If you take xanax regularly for 2wks or longer, you're body becomes dependent. You will more than likely have withrawal...

Can 0.5 mg Alprazolam be used as a nerve pill? ## Will taking 0.5 xanax twice daily help me avoid withdrawals from 5 mg of valium twice daily? I'm worried. ## Alprazolam (Zanax) can possibly help you with withdrawal from diapazepam (Valium) The problem you may run into is the half life of each medication. Alprazolam (Xanax) is a very short acting benzodiazepine, while diazepam (valium) has a much longer half life If you are not in recovery from alcohol or other medications, you can use alcohol for withdrawal symptoms from benzodiazepines (Valium, Klonopin, Versed, Ativan, Xanax, Librium, etc,) Interestingly enough, the human brain cannot distinguish between benzodiazepines and alcohol. In fact they adhere to the same receptor sites in our tiny little brains. So if you find the Xanax...

The last 3 days I cant sleep and at night when I close my eye my mind doesnt shut. Also still struggling with shortness of breath and some panic attacks. Specially now that stopped taking xanax. Any suggestion? Thank u ## Hello, Roadrunner! How are you? There's a chance that it's due to stopping the Xanax, you may be experiencing some withdrawal symptoms. It will likely just be a matter of time, before things improve. If not, then you should speak to your doctor. As listed by the FDA, withdrawal symptoms may include nausea, headache, anxiety and depression. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank u. Yes I started ...
