The only other detail which would be helpful is if you can confirm that the other side has "500" printed on it, to indicate the dosage. I based the answer off the following imprint: |><| (except vertical instead of horizontal), then 4331 The hourglass logo represents the manufacturer IVAX.

I HAVE 2 BOTTLES OF METFORMIN HCL TAB 500MG. ONE BOTTLE HAS WHITE ROUND TABLET A/12 ON IT AND THE OTHER HAS WHITE OVAL TABLET a logo and 4331/500 ON IT. ARE THESE THE SAME MEDICATIONS? The last Metformin we received had 43 31 on the pill. Before that is said 93 48. The new pill is not working. Manufactre is Teva. Any suggestions? ## Does the 4331 pill have an hourglass logo in front of 4331 and 500 on the other side? If so this is Metformin 500 mg. The 93 48 pill, 93 on one side and 48 on the other is also Metformin 500 mg. Since it is the same drug and the same milligrams, they both should be just as effective.
