I am now 60 yrs. of age I had a Rhino surgery 12 years back(1999) From 2006 I had complete loss of smell and could get taste of ONLY sweet, sour &salt,& no flavors In the end of Nov. 2009 I was prescribed solone tablets(3 a day 10mg)The next day I could get normal smell &taste. After a couple of months the dosage was reduced, various combinations of dosages were tried including 5mg.every alternate day. At present 5mg. a day keeps my smell & taste intact. Usually I feel a LOSS of smell after DEEP SLEEP as also after intake of Alcohol and ice ETC. I must add that after taking such medication for almost 2yrs.I have not put on weight or had any health setbacks or common fever or cold. Kindly advise. Regards Bomi ## Has your doctor advised you to continue using it? Wysolone con...

My father (62 yrs) is taking Wysolone tablets with 120mg/day every alternate days. the treatment is for fsgs (tip variant) in kidney with the 24 hr protien in urine measuring to 7400. Please let me know how to prevent/minimize the side effects of his medication and also let me know the diet regiment to follow being a strict lacto vegetarian. Also please let me know if there is any chance of relapse.

My father (50) has been diagonalized with sarcoidosis and has been treated with Wysolone since 2005.the doses have varied since inception of the treatment i.e. 50 mg to 20 mg. He also has high blood bressure and has been taking Stamlo 5 simultaneously. Kindly suggest if there is any alternate milder and effective treatment for Sarcoidosis as there have been lots of side effects of wysolone which include weight gain, skin darkening, altering moods, pressure on kidney's(there has been considerable swelling in his legs, on & off) and i havnt seen much improvement in his condition. He leads a very stressful work life. Also kindly educate me about any lifestyle changes required.

My Father (age 80 yrs) was put on wysolone 10 mg for 1 month for exfoliative dermatitis (erythroderma). His skin colour returned to normal in 1 month but due to reduced albumin levels, hie edema still persisted. Dr advised him to reduce the dosage to 5 mg for 10 days...and then 5 mg alternate days. Within 5-6 days of reducing to 5 mg, the redness returned, and edema reappeared on his face, elbows etc. He continued with the 5 mg for 2 more days, and the flare up has begun to subside. Now he need to taper down the dose further. Will it be a better idea to make it 5 mg and 2.5 mg on alternate days instead of 5 and 0? And then 2.5 and 0...to finally 0? I am worried if he goes without the 5 mg on alternate days, the flare up will happen again ## Hello, Sunny! How is your dad doing? These ste...
