uses and side effects of Adova tablet ## Based on my research, Adova tab contains the active ingredient Anastrozole; which belongs to the class of nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitors. Anastrozole is sometimes prescribed for infertility, but is often used with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation, to treat early breast cancer in women who have experienced menopause. It works by decreasing the amount of estrogen the body makes. This, in turn, can slow or stop the growth of many types of breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow. Side effects may include: weakness headache hot flashes sweating stomach pain nausea vomiting loss of appetite constipation diarrhea heartburn weight gain joint, bone, or muscle pain breast pain mood changes depression difficulty falling asleep or sta...

much hair fall,.. so i want to know if i use susten200(progestrone) tablets will increase hair fall for me ## Actually, the hormone Progesterone should do the opposite, since hair loss can be caused by a lack of it, it can be used to help stop or improve the problem. It is used in several topical creams and ointments that women can be given to use for premature hair loss. You can learn more here: It is a hormone, so you may experience some side effects, such as breakthrough bleeding, nausea and headache. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Hormones make me vomit profusely and have hot flashes like a 55 year old woman. The pill is hot pink and it's the size of a mini m&m. It has the letters DW on one side and it's blank on the other. It is round. I do believe it's an over-the-counter drug. ## Hi Violet, I haven't found an exact match to your pill, but from what others have mentioned, I think it may be "Dulcolax for Women" (an over-the-counter laxative containing Bisacodyl). Someone else was told that their pink pill was a generic oxycodone 20mg tablet. However, Dulcolax for Women seems to make a lot more sense with the abbreviated imprint "DW"; seeing as they haven't confirmed oxycodone to be a possible match either. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Bisacodyl Details Can anyone else confirm this identification? ## That tiny hot pink pill with t...

I am about to start this tablet after breast cancer and radio I am really worried about it all and the different types of it! Need some advice ## Hello, Gaye! How are you? I'm very sorry about the cancer and I understand your concerns. The FDA lists its most common side effects as possibly including hot flashes, weakness, joint pain, sore throat, headache, depression and high blood pressure. It lowers estrogen levels and some breast tumors need it to grow. It's generally only prescribed for post-menopausal women. What are your specific concerns? Perhaps I can address them better, if you are more specific.

HOT FLASHES ## Are you asking about using Belladonna Alkaloids for hot flashes? It has been prescribed for alleviating them for many years, but testing didn't actually prove it to be effective, so as a treatment of hot flashes and the symptoms of peri or full menopause, it generally isn't recommended anymore. Many women get much better relief from Evening Primrose and Black Cohosh, some even add the natural Progesterone creams. All of these are available over the counter, but you should check with your doctor, before using any of them.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE POST TO FACE BOOK THE NAME OF THE PILL THAT IS ROUND GREENISH IN COLOR WITH EP 102 ON ONE SIDE AND SCORED IN QUARTERS(IE WITH A CROSS ) ON THE OTHER SIDE. ## This round green tablet contains Belladonna Alkaloids (0.2mg) + Ergotamine Tartrate (0.6mg) + Phenobarbital (40mg). Ergotamine, belladonna alkaloids, and phenobarbital combination is used in the prevention of vascular (migraine or cluster) headaches. It is also indicated to ameliorate symptoms such as hot flushes, sweating, restlessness, and insomnia in menopausal women. It is usually used for women who are unable to take estrogens. However, unlike estrogen replacement therapy, the ergotamine, belladonna, and phenobarbital combination does not protect against postmenopausal osteoporosis. Please post back if you h...

I feel tired all the time, still having some hot flashes, and my family said that my moods are off the chain sometimes. ## Hello, Cathy! How are you? When is the last time your doctor checked your hormone levels? Have you considered trying anything else to treat these symptoms? Some women have very good luck with an SSRI, such as Prozac. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache and weight loss. But yes, if you're still having symptoms, that's a good sign that you aren't balance, yet.

Reddish brown oval pill. I would like to know more about this medication. ## Here's some info I have This medicine is a female hormone and is usually given to women who do not produce the proper amount. It is used to reduce menopause symptoms (such as hot flashes or vaginal dryness), to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) in some post-menopausal women, to treat certain cancers in men and women (such as certain types of metastatic breast cancer or androgen-dependent prostate cancer), or to treat low estrogen levels caused by certain conditions. Is anyone going through menopause and on warfarin? If so, what do you take and does it work? Many thanks ## I didn't find any interactions listed between Warfarin, and Black Cohosh, which helps many women with various perimenopause symptoms, including hot flashes. I've been taking it for mine for awhile, now, and it has really helped a lot, it also mostly eliminated my night sweats. While some places also suggest Soy Isoflavones as a helpful supplement, the FDA warns against taking it with Warfarin, since it can also cause increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. What types of symptoms have you been experiencing?

Is megestrol used to control hot flashes in men who have had prostate cancer radiation and harmone therapy? ## I did come across a study done on "Megestrol acetate for the prevention of hot flashes"; which you can view by following the link below: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8028614 It seems as though it would be pretty effective, as the study mentioned that hot flashes were reduced by 85% after four weeks on megestrol. The degree of efficacy was also noted to be similar in men and women. On a side note: Megestrol is a man-made version of the human hormone progesterone, and is commonly used by cancer patients, so I do believe that it is an option for those who have had prostate cancer radiation and hormone therapy. I hope this information helps to answer your question!
