Been taking 720mg of oxy ER for 15yrs.9 80s a day Have now tapered to 120 mg over the last 8 months. Wondering where to go after 3 5mg a day. Do i go to norco? Thanks ## Hello, Dc! How are you doing? What has your doctor advised? Generally, rather than go to a different medication, they'd have you start skipping doses to eventually completely wean yourself off. For example, you'd take 3 a day one day, then 2 the next, then back to 3 and gradually start widening the gap every week or so. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Thx for idea, talked to doctor who doesn't know much about.says iam his first patient in 20...

i need withdrawl effects of invega. ## I was on Invega for 5 years. It raised my blood pressure to 318 so I had to stop it. I was on 6 mgs. and was dropped to 3 mgs. for a week and then my doctor told me to stop. I am a recovering alcoholic and street drug addict. The withdrawal was horrendous! I was sweating profusely, couldn't sleep, felt like something was crawling on my skin and couldn't sit still. I also couldn't function properly. I don't know what your doctor advised or what mgs you are on, but I believe I should have been on the 3 mgs. for about 3 weeks and then taken off of it, so my body got used to the lower dosage. I went back on the full dosage so I can get through a wedding I am in that's in 11 days. After that, I am going to talk to the doctor again an...

Hi all. I have seen a lot of posts in the drugs forum about Fentanyl withdrawal. I too have been struggling with the withdrawal symptoms for 10 days now. Trust me when I say it DOES and WILL get easier. I know that if you have just recently started a taper or have gone cold turkey because a taper hasn't worked for you, you're probably not feeling very well right now.Trust me when I say it will get better. It may take weeks to finally feel normal again, but the worst will be over before you know it! I was on 100mcg/hr for about a year, and just recently tapered to 12.5 but went through withdrawal anyhow. Here are a few things that might help, and that have helped me get through the worst of it. ****REMEMBER***** To consult your doctor before pulling yourself off any medication :)...

All HELP and encouragement is appreciated! Last year, in November, I abruptly stopped 60mg. of Cymbalta after taking it for 3 years. I had NO IDEA what would happen. I experienced a 20 day constant panic attack that I later learned was withdrawal.Needless to say, I was prescribed Klonopin as needed and went on Zoloft. I got through that and I think I only took a couple of .5 K. FAST FORWARD to this year...My PDOC had me on 100mg. zoloft and 36mg. Concerta, and 2mg. of Abilify. 11months later, I was so distant, I decided to come off Abilify. Stopped abruptly. Anxiety, sickness came on with a vengeance. My PDOC convinced me that he would not let me become addicted to the Klonopin and that I needed to take it regularly. Long story short, I took between .5 and 1mg for about 6 weeks. I then ...

I am angry at myself for being in this position. I became dependant on tram a year or so ago. It was the only thing that helped with severe monthly pain, if you know what I'm saying and my doc prescribed it to me like it was tylenol. My first script was 270 50 mg tabs! I just recently relocated to FL and no longer have insurance, know nothing about online buying, sketchy anyway... i don't know what to do or how to function during the living hell of withdrawals! Any support out there is welcome :). Thanks ## Since you are suffering badly and going through the hell of withdrawals, the best and fastest option you have is to sacrify some money and go to a doctor...he/she will give you a prescription....because the doctors know that if you use Tramadol you must not stop suddenly, and...

what r side effects of stopping 300mg abruptly ## rapid heart rate, chest pain, and fainting feeling. I know because that's what I felt. ## rapid heart rate, chest pain, and fainting feeling. ## 300MGS OF what???rlogv ## Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat some mood disorders, and certain types of nerve pain. You should not stop taking a high dose abruptly, because along with the possible withdrawals symptoms of mood changes, irritability, and confusion, the FDA also warns that it creates the risk of seizures. Kathy still available metformin with my friend still has bad headaches comes n goes then off it wen on glicerizide off this and on a new one no idea which one does all diabetic medicine cause withdrawal why is his head bad ## Am upset thinking he nerves damaged my marriage never happen now I not be here any more I tell my Dr I want to die ## Hello, Fluffy! How are you doing? It could be due to your blood sugar readjusting, after the medication switch. Things should settle back down, after about 4 to 5 weeks, once your body adjusts to the change. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia. There is no reason to not proceed with your marriage. The depression could also be due to your blood sugar being...

Hi, I live in Salem, Oregon. Ive been on methadone for about 9 years now. recently my medication got seriously wet. Ill be 4 days short now on my meds because my new doctor is new and won't do an early refill. Ive withdrawn once in the past. Im really scared. Is there a way to lesson the withdrawals. Id like to not have to go through it at all ## Hello, Ellen! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. In the future, please store your medications in a location where they can't get wet. Most doctors, even if you aren't new to seeing them, will not provide an early refill. Their prescribing practices are very closely monitored by the government. Did you ask them about possibly cutting the tablets to lower your dosage for a few days? That might he...

Have been using opiets for over 35 years. Started with auto accident. Doctor prescribed over a long period then passed away. Was addicted and had to purchase illegally locally. Now still having problem with addiction and paying most of my SSI and Retirement for what I can get. Went to a mandatory class in Elizabeth City, NC several times weekly just to be able to get prescription for Suboxone. It worked but got tired of sitting 3 hours in class with young people and now back on the hard stuff. Why can one purchase cigarettes and liquor that kills but I can't get the necessary drugs to make me feel normal. Am still in benzodiazepines withdrawal but in healing process I gained weight does my normal weight return help ## Hello, Sam! How are you? It really depends on whether or not the weight gain was solely due to the withdrawal process or not. If so, then yes, it should go away, with time. What other withdrawal effects have you experienced? The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, diarrhea, rebound depression, rebound anxiety and the risk of seizures.

My pain doctor was out of the country for 2 months. I was seeing her P.A. who was amazing. I hadn't planned to stay with this new pain doctor anyway she was horrible. Anyway, I called for over a week to ask the nurse what I should do because I couldn't keep the fentanyl patches secured and used more of them, I was on my last one. I called everyday and left a message. She calls me back saying I couldn't get any refills until my appt. In 4 more days. I pleaded with her that I'd read the leaflet and feared the extent of the withdrawl. No answer. So I took some old (expired) meds that I had so I could fight the withdrawl. I brought them with me and told the P.A. While I was there what I did. She sympathized and seemed to know there were issues like this. I found out that day...

I have looked everywhere for answers to my questions for the symptoms of withdrawals of Norco but haven't found what I needed. ## I recently ran out of Norco that I have been on for a year. 10/325 at 4 a day. The withdrawals were insane. I have since gotten more meds but I can't get this awful taste out of my mouth nor can I shake this weak feeling I have. Any help? ## This will probably last for about two weeks. You need to get off them their really bad, and make you feel horrible when you don't have them!

Thank you to all who post here. We can't get truthful or helpful support from most Drs. I am in Costa Rica and it is very difficult as I don't have a Psych. Dr. and the GP speaks little English. I have been on AD's since back in the day when there were only Tricyclics. Done them all. For the last 3 years have been on 150mg Wellbutrin and 10mg. Lexapro. GP started me on 20mg and I did that for a year and decided I wanted to try lesser dose and save a little $. I have since decided it no longer helps me and think the Wellbutrin can do the trick solo. On Sept. 8, I began 5 mgs. did that for 2 weeks, suffered the nausea, sleepiness, dizziness, weepiness short tempered, also started the Omega Oil Caps, B complex, ginger root tea, multivit. and dramamine. Then did every other day d...

Withdrawal from Norco just started and I took a couple to fix the pain. Will these withdrawal symptoms go away if I continue with my normal dosage? If not I'm screwed. ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? Yes, taking them should stop the withdrawal symptoms, though it likely won't be immediate, it may take a day, or so. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal symptoms as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. The best thing to do, if you want to stop taking them is to gradually reduce your dosage, by taking less each day and spacing your doses further apart. Your doctor can help you set up an appropriate tapering schedule for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon thank you very much, I had ran out a bit early just due to a busy month. ...

I have been taking Xanax off and on for about 7 months and lately I have only been taking .25 mg like twice a week. I want to stop taking Xanax all together but everytime I wait like 3 to 4 days I start feeling extreme anxiety and I feel like I need to take some Xanax. And I only take .25mg. Is this anxiety because I am going through withdraws? How can I stop taking Xanax all together and not experience anyone withdrawal symptoms? Anyone have any advice on what I should do? I want to stop Xanax but I also don't want anymore anxiety. Please help me with some advice ## If you are being honest you must know that you are NOT going through withdrawals. I'm 13 days in withdrawal from Suboxone. I was on 8 mg for almost 2 years after abusing Vic/Perc for a little over year. I was never supposed to be put on this evil s*** and it's caused me to lose everything. I'm currently living in my girlfriends 2 bedroom house with her two kids. Will tramadol help with norco withdrawals? I am prescribed 6 10/325 per day and ran short. Will they take away the symptoms? ## @Auntie, Due to the serious nature of withdrawals I would probably encourage you to discuss this with your doctor before trying things out on your own, just to be on the safe side. Although I will say that a number of reviews I came across do "imply" that tramadol did help them manage their withdrawal symptoms for a period of time, whereas others ended up experiencing rebound effects shortly after stopping the tramadol. In either case it seems to me like everyone tends to respond differently and you might actually be better off getting a recommendation for a specific medication from a pain management doctor who already knows what options work best for t...

I've tapered down from 20 mg oxycodone ( for 3 months for back pain) to 5mg for the last eight days. I want to get this process over with, of course. I could drop to 2.5 for week or just stop oxycodone now and prepare for the symptoms. My dr has given me adavan and clonidine. Advice please. ## So, you sent from 4 x 5mg per day to 1 x 5mg per day? Is your pain under control? 3 months isn't that long of time. If I were you, I'd change to 2.5 mg 2x per day then cut it to 2.5 once a day then that is it. ## When you think u tapperd down enough dont do none for 2 whole days then after 48 hours take a little bit, but dont get all loaded. Just take the edge off a little so you will sleep and wake up almost normal. I'm about to do it, hopefully i can quit. It's a mother f***e...
