i have been unwell for 2years, with flu like symptoms. i had test done, ct scan, bloods, broncoscopy and doctors couldn't find anything wrong. i kept having crisis on and off. it ended up i had a bacteria infection from a wisdom tooth. i am so surprised doctors never knew. i was surprised that the tooth affected my whole body, i was tired, couldn't work or enjoy life .i was given metronidazole which was excellant and had the tooth removed. ## Judy, it is amazing how everything in the body can be connected, isn't it? Thank you for sharing this story - So is it safe to say that you're in good condition now? How long after you started taking the medication was it before you felt better?

i am having wisdom teeth pain can I take cepodem 200 for relief or any other suggestions from your side. ## Cepodem is just an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections, so it will not do anything to relieve pain, according to the NIH. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Have you consulted a dentist or doctor? That would be the best thing to do, in order to get appropriate treatment.

I recently have got this gum pain in the very back of my mouth. Iv researched and everything says my wisdom teeth are coming out. The pain us excruciating I can feel it throbbing and im so hungry but im afraid to chew... if I take Flanax will it help me any? ## Hello, Jules! How are you? Flanax contains Naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may help. It can also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. However, you do need to see a dentist and have this checked out to be sure what's going on, because if there is actually an infection, this will do nothing to treat it. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Ok so I had gotten a fever one morning and the day before I felt really drained of energy. then I got some little white sores on my tongue and my gums had become swollen and extremely sensitive, so much that i hurt to brush me teeth and to even eat. i went to the clinic to see what is wrong, i was tested for strep and mono but both tests came back negative. the doctor said it was just viral and to just take ibuprofen or Tylenol for the pain. well it had gotten worse so i went back and the new doctors said that i had the virus herpes simplex but did not say specifically which one. anyways she gave me a prescription on acyclovir to take for 10 days. the medication worked but now i noticed that my gums above my wisdom teeth are still very swollen and have a sort of flap on them. could all ...

Hi I would love some info from anyone that may have been through my situation or something similair. I have to have my wisdom teeth cut out tomorrow. Now I am taking 10 mg of subutex each day. I was told by my doc to skip my subutex today and by tomorrow the pain meds would work. Take pain meds no more than 2 days and then on the 3rd morning just go back on the subutex. My question is this, is stopping the subutex today enough time that I will be able to feel the pain meds which will be norco 10 mg by tomorrow? I am also afraid I am going to cause the precipitated withdrawals I've read about or that I'm gonna be in withdrawal while taking the norcos for pain those couple days. Please any info would be so appreciated. ## Did everything work out? Usually, Subutex needs to be stopp...

can i take Propoxyphen Apap 100 650 Mgtev after having my wisdom teeth removed? and is it ok to take with pennicillin ## Looking back at this one now, the original question is no longer relevant and I will explain why for anyone else searching for details. As of November of 2010, the FDA had all products containing Propoxyphene and its relatives removed from the market, due to the high risk they caused of cardiac dangers and an inordinate number of overdose fatalities. You can learn more Darvocet details here. If you are in a country that still uses this as an analgesic, then I can only advise you to check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking it with other medications, since the interaction details are not regularly updated in the available resources in the U.S. anymore, which ...

I have a wisdom tooth infection, and I am scheduled to have it pulled out in two days, since my dentist say that the infection has to be healed first. But the pain is excruciating! What can I use, to ease the pain, for the time being. ## this site is not medical professionals to suggest a treatment and since you did not say what antibiotic you are taking I cannot check for interactions. Most people generally just use Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen, if it is said to be okay by your doctor or pharmacist. Have you tried calling your dentist to ask what you can use? ## When I had my wisdom teeth removed I was prescribed Vicodin. Worked really well for me. If you talk to your dentist I'm sure they will prescribe you a proper medication. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

My wisdom teeth have been coming in and I can't afford a dentist trip right now. And when I eat, food gets stuck up in/under one of my wisdom teeth, thus, causing an infection. I have 9 AMOX-CLAV 875-125 (substitute for Augmentin) left. Would/will that be enough to treat my infection? Is it more than enough? Not enough/need more? And would it even be useful for me to take those for a toothach/infection? Pill description: big/"horse pill", oval/oblong, imprint on one side " 875 | 125 " imprint on opposite side (flip over) " AMC " Please reply/respond if you have any knowledge on this, or would be able to offer advice & answer my questions! Please&thank you all! :) ## Hello, Allison! How are you? No, you'd need at least 14 of them, 2 a day for 7 day...

I took Coveram for for about 2 months. I saw where a possible side effect was a sore mouth. My problem was very tender gums and difficulty in chewing because of that. I stopped taking Coveram and "GRADUALLY" my condition improved. However, my first visit to my dentist after Coveram I was told that I had Loose Wisdom teeth and that I should have them implanted. I believe that this condition was caused by the swelling of my mouth.

I extracted my wisdom (molar) teeth - right lower 2 weeks back. I am feeling a pain in the next adjacent teeth. Doctor prescribed root canal, but I am going on a tour from tomorrow for 2 weeks. Is there any intermediate solution to this? ## I have pain in my tooth in the lower portion, so i want to know if there are any remedies? ## I've been on amoxicillin for a week and Tylenol 3 and my tooth still hurts. Is it because I'm still drinking soda? Is that why I'm still in pain? ## I have taken cyclobenzaprine (10mg) for a severe toothache a couple times and by the next day I'm usually fine.

I have wisdom teeth that cracked and I haven't got them pulled out. Now the ones in front of my wisdom teeth cracked and got holes and hurt really bad. Can I use this antibiotic? ## Macrobid (Nitrofurantoin) is usually not the preferred antibiotic to treat dental infections. It is most commonly used to treat urinary tract infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and stomach pain. It would be best to see a dentist, so they can prescribe the appropriate medications and correct the problems that have caused these issues. If you allow them to continue, things are just going to keep getting worse. As someone that has had to get dentures due to severe dental issues throughout my life, I can tell you that while I do lov...

my son just had his wisdom teeth removed. the bleeding doesn't seem to want to stop. he is on Benazepril and Digitek. Do they thin his blood? ## Linda, Both seem to be cardiac / blood pressure drugs, so it could be very possible that they would affect the amount of bleeding. Ultimately the oral surgeon should know about him being on these meds so that any additional precautions can be taken. Wishing your son a smooth recovery, Mark ## thanks Mark, as it turns out his meds do not have blood thinners. The oral surgeon finally called and he said all was fine, that he had to dig deeper to remove them. But you are so kind to wish my son well, it made me smile, thanks~ Linda ## Linda, You're very welcome :) I can sympathize because I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed about 10 yrs ago and...

I will be having wisdom teeth pulled. I would like to know what options are availiable for non narcotic pain relief. Preferably the strongest. I will be able to get a prescription, but I would like to avoid opiates or opioids. ## Wow, that's kind of difficult, because knocking out the opiates leaves only options for minimal pain relief. In many cases, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory would be prescribed, such as just a strong dose of Ibuprofen, but that can depend on how complicated the extractions are and how much you're bleeding afterwards. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. Are they being done in office, or as surgical extractions?

what antibiotics are mainly used for wisdom teeth infections ## I'm not too fond of prescription drugs, but I think Cephalexin is one of common interest. It is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. To view information about this drug please click on the link below... Although I personally suggest looking into Clove Essential Oil. It's a natural remedy for dental issues as far as alleviating tooth aches (anaesthetic properties) and fighting infections (antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal properties). Just make sure you don't use a lot of it at once (no more than a 2-4 drops in the desired area, as it is very concentrated and may be toxic in large doses. This generally is not something to worry about as you won't need more than the minimum amount to...

Hi. I have gum infection due to my wisdom teeth. I am pregnant so I can get them extracted now . But my dentist prescribed Tylenol and amoxicillin now the question is my gum turned red like it was bloodshot after my first dosage of the antibiotics then the next day I discovered that it became really soft and had like a pulse... few hours later blood and what not came out of the pulse and it felt numb like I wasn't feeling any pain again but it's still swollen a bit . Is that it healing? Or I should be worried ## It sounds like you had an abscess infection, and it drained. I experienced many of them, myself, before I finally got rid of all my teeth and got dentures. You should definitely finish the antibiotics, and consult your doctor, or dentist, if you experience any other prob...

I have been takinng amoxicillin for my wisdom teeth surgery. I have been getting really bad headaches. Is this normal will it go away when I stop taking it ? I'm very uncomfortable ## Hello, Mel! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. They should go away, but it may take a week, or so, after you finish your course of treatment. However, if they get worse, or don't go away, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?
