This contains 100mgs of Nitrofurantoin, which is an antibiotic, but is not usually the first choice for a dental infection. And, if it does help, it would only be temporary, because whatever is causing the tooth to become infection needs to be addressed and corrected, or it will just return.

Can this medicine be used to gratis a tooth infection? ## Hi Heidi, I have my doubts, because Nitrofurantoin has poor tissue penetration and is not indicated to treat anything other than simple cystitis (urinary tract infections). I would however recommend using clove essential oil for tooth and mouth related infections. Not only does it numb the pain, but it also kills the infection. A cheap natural alternative to prescription drugs, that is more effective in my opinion.
