I don't know what types of reviews are out there for this medication, but I'd probably suggest playing it safe and going the natural route. Ordered 2 mg Lorazepam, got Ativan small yellow pill. I used for sleep at night & they don't seem to work. What are they? ## Are there any markings on the tablets? Ativan is the name brand for Lorazepam, but I can't really confirm anything, without knowing more specifics. If you post back with this information, I will gladly check for you.

Any mood altering meds should be tapered off slowly. Talk to your doctor to see how you should slowly adjust your dosage. Check your meds to see if they are benzodiazapines, like Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Clonazapam etc (they have different names for the brand vs the generic, so check your meds to see what types they are.) They drugs can be addictive and do cause serious withdrawal symptoms. I had seizures when I quit Xanax cold turkey. I am now on Ativan, but a low dose that I only take when I REALLY need it to help with panic attacks and panic related sleeplessness. The more you take these meds, the less they work and the more problems they cause when you stop taking them. i have recently been prescribed ativan which seems to help some,but i am wondering if xanax would work better ## they are roughly equivalent, but Xanax hits the nervous system faster, and gets out of you system faster. Both good for panic, crappy for sleep, wouldn't use either for persistant symptoms of anxiety. ## Just to add some further information.... A lot of it can also depend on the individual involved, one may not work for them, while another might, so sometimes it's really just a matter of trial and error to see which medication works for you. Started me at 50 mg for 4 weeks, slept very little. I was prescribed Ativan 1 mg helped me sleep about 6 to 7 hours. My Doc took me off after prescribing me 5 pills 3 times, total of 15. My Zoloft was raised from 50 mg to 100mg, now I'm having more trouble than ever sleeping. I went to my pcp and was prescribed zolpidem tartrate 5 mg, tablets. I took a 5 mg tablet once a night for 2 nights and couldn't sleep. I called pharmacist and was told to take 2 5 mg tablets, total of 10 mg per night. I have been on benzoate for 15 years and the 3 mg xanax er was working great until the generic was changed on me by the pharmacy. I have been asked to try 1 mg ativan twice daily and my anxiety and panic kicks in that if I say these work and then they don't I won't be able to function. Are these the same and if not how do I get my dr to keep me on the best meds for me and my chemistry. Is there a way to find a generic specific, where the fillers do not affect the half life of my meds? Also I never sleep and I know this just adds to the anxiety then the panic. Any advice? I have been taking Alprax0.50mg for the past ten years OD. But now i am not having deep sleep as i am a spondyloarthropathy patient. As per our Doctor advice i am taking Zolpeace 5mg OD along with Alprax0.50mg. But there is no effect. Along with these two tablets i am also taking Ativan 1mg OD. Hi, I am long time anxiety patient - i've been on paxil, buspar, lexapro, zanaflex, remrom, flexiril, tricyciclants, trazodone - you name it. Also, with this I have had bad insomnia. I will not sleep for nights at a time, and it is affecting my work as well as my social life. I have tried (for sleep) Lunesta 2-4mg, Ambien 20mg, Sonata 40mg, and Prosom 2mg. What do they look like? Are they pink, and light blue M 7.5?? ## Yes, based on your description it does sound like a Restoril capsule 7.5 mg. Basically a capsule that's half blue, half pink. The blue half states the word RESTORIL over 7.5mg in burgundy letters, and the pink half has a boxed M (mylan) logo with the ® symbol, and also possibly the words FOR SLEEP on the pink side as well. I've been on oxycontin 80s for yrs. A new pain mgmt doctor says I'm taking too much and has also refused to prescribe ativan 1mg 2 per day. I have been on a rollercoaster ride with meds being changed. I was given Zanaflex and Topamaze. Will these meds help me? Oxycontin dropped from 160mg 2xday, to 1 tab 3xday, no anxiety meds. So I was recently prescribed lorazepam (Ativan) (1mg), and took it this morning. This was the third day I had taken it. The first two times, I had no problem. It worked great. But today, I found myself unbelievably sleepy and had to leave class and come home and sleep. I never had this problem before. Granted, I had a bad night of sleep last night, but woke up fine… until I took the Ativan. Any thoughts here as to how to avoid the sleepiness that it may bring next time? Does anyone have experience of being treated with Dilantin for anxiety/depression/ADHD symptoms ? If so, could you advise me on dosage - Thanks ## Hope things have gotten better since you posted this. I have depression and anxiety as was adult ADD. I take patil. 10mg of Ativan as needed for the anxiety and to help me sleep when I can't calm my mind, and also Ritalin 10mg 2 times a day. The Ritalin being added really made a difference. I am not wanting to stay in bed. It has helped with my productivity and has helped me focus at work. I am on my 6th day of Pristiq 50mg. and I am starting to feel like my old self. Still tired off and on. The first 4 day were hell. I felt awful. I felt nauseous, had a reoccurring small headache. My legs were achy and couldn't sleep. I finally took 1/2 of a Ativan (2.5mg) and that helped a lot. Each day gets better, so maybe there is hope yet. I hope so. I'm seeing my pain doctor and psychiatrist this week to get on a proper pain regimen for debilitating fibromyalgia, severe insomnia with central sleep apnea, PTSD/anxiety from significant abuse I'm working through, chronic daily headaches (advanced migraines), and chronic pain from multiple surgeries (pelvic, back, neck...) Because my doctors don't collaborate I need to suggest options to them. I am sensitive to many medications and have tried a lot over the years. I want my life back.
