Why Klonopin Wafers Not Available

Hi as everyone who takes brand name Klonopin knows its on backorder. I have try the generic it don't work for me.. But that is at the same mg as the Brand. I was wondering if anyone has try the generic at a higher mg? And if so did it work like the brand name? ## Hi Sharon, Sorry to hear that the generic didn't end up working for you. I did want to point something out though that may be the reasoning as to why it's not as effective as the brand name (even at the same milligrams). I think it really comes down to the "inactive/non-medicinal" ingredients that they also put into these tablets. I have been on Klonokin for 20 + years as it helps with my Dystonia. Look that condition up!.I don't trust generics, but that is for a good reason. Remember, Generic Drug manufactures can't be sued for medications they distribute. The FDA has instituted that policy-for reasons I 'll never understand. However, Klonopin is now available nationwide. Being frustrated, I call the manufacture of the medication-Roche Pharmaceuticals, and tonight I called again. My prescription for Brand Klonopin 0.5 mg tablets was just filled by my local CVS pharmacy. I had to pay for it out of pocket since my generic Rx had just been filled. ## Does the named brand klonopin work the same for you as it did before it was on backorder? ## @Sound4heaven, I would recommend looking into whether or not the manufacturer has made any changes to the list of inactive ingredients, since this aspect of a tablet also plays a role in the tablet's overall bioavailability. If there are no changes there, name brand Klonopin 0.5mg should theoretically work the same as before. But had this been a generic version of Clonazepam, then inconsistency could be a stronger possibility since it has been heavily speculated that the FDA allows manufacturers the leeway of having a plus ......

I called Westward/Actavis, emailed FDA. All say it was a business decision to keep capsules not tablets. Tablets work better. No heads up stopped in 2013. I take 1.0 mg of klonopin a day and as prescribed and it is not showing up in my urine test. The Doctor that prescribes my medication thinks that I am not taking it. Has anyone ever heard of this and if so what could be the reason for it not showing up in my urine test? The Doctor accused me of not taking my medication he prescribed. last month I had to drive 1hr to find 10mg Focalin. Doc increased it to 15mg. Nowhere to be found in or near Brooksville FL. Pharmacies say they can order it but can't guarantee they'll get it??? Since mid July 2014 - critical shortage! This past month we have run into a critical shortage of an important Alzheimer medicine called Namenda, which the manufacturer is discontinuing the 5 and 10 mg versions to change over to their 'new' version Namenda XR.
